Here I am, so all of your smoke and prayers for me have worked well indeed!
Surgery was amazing. Only one small incision. He removed the evil disc, inserted a spacer with cadaver bone to fuse the vertebrae, and placed a titanium screw/post fixation device all through that small opening. I was up walking within a few hours, but of course the day after surgery is the worst and I had a 2 hour ride home, so I'm still having pain, but at least not the threat of being paralyzed!
They tell me I did really well during the procedure and while the night was a little rough I'm looking forward to the next few days to see how this will go. Once you decompress nerves they "wake up" and send distress signals again. Hopefully this will all go away!
Thanks again every one of you in my extended Busse family for hanging in there for me! I love and appreciate you all, and this is one lady who will never forget your support!
