Osiyo, finally got home late last night and after some very nice rest here I am! And even though my fingers are still tingly I have better control over them and can use both hands to type with again. Dr. said feeling may come back over time and I sure hope so! :thumbup:
I am also stronger in my arms and Im not dragging my left leg when I walk now. We also had to let the handles down lower on my rollator because I dont have to walk all bent over anymore unless I am overly tired, which doesnt take much right now!
All the stomach clenches, smoke, and prayers most appreciated! I came close, damned close, this time to living a life I wouldnt wish on anyone and no one will never know how grateful to the Great Mystery and Grandfather I am except myself. :thumbup:
Dr. Gaede fused my neck and then installed a titanium plate with screws from level C-2 through C-7 and it was worse than even he expected!
On the C-4 level I had bone spurs growing into my spinal cord! He removed the C-4 vertebrate, cleaned it up and put part of it back as its always best to use your very own parts and pieces whenever possible.
Right now my throat is sorer than I ever thought possible and I kinda had to learn how to swallow again without choking, also found out this morning its gonna be a while before I can eat my oatmeal for breakfast again.
I had to have scrambled eggs like I did in the hospital but this will pass with a lot less time than it takes for my feeling to all come back, if it does that is, but I can learn to live with the way my fingers and hands are right now if I have to.:thumbup:
