I'm Baaaacckkkkk!!!! August 18th, '07

Yvsa, it is good to see that you are doing okay. I hope for your continued improvement and a speedy recovery. Keep us updated when you have the time.

Welcome back, Yvsa.

I assume the sore throat is from intubation and anesthesia? If so, it will feel better in a few days. Glad to hear the cervical spine work went well.
Best of all, you are more comfortable and mobile.

DaddyDett

Yup, you nailed it DD! It's already getting easier to swallow but it's still tough to eat or drink but will get better with time like all things.
Friday night was a bear trying to get comfortable and in spite of me sleeping several hours during the afternoon I still managed some good sleep last night as did my Barbie.
Barbie helped me to shower this morning and having been up all day tonight should be better sleeping yet, sure hope so for my Barbie's sake!!!!   :D

Ice cream !!! :D

Good to hear you're (almost) back in good working order!

Esav my friend I am so tired of ice cream, puddings, and applesauce I could :barf: . Barbie put up a few more pints of okra and tomatoes yesterday and I was able to get the little bit left over she couldn't get in the jars down tonight along with some mac & cheese and it was sure good!!!! :D
So far Barbie has put up 27 quarts of tomatoes from the few plants she put in this year and a couple of quart bags of okra to be breaded and fried later on along with 10 pints of the okra and tomatoes.
When we used to go to Ryan's, a local steakhouse and buffet on Mondays for the catfish we always had their okra and tomatoes, most places avoid it like the plague! :(

Edit:
I will have some more okra & tomatoes tomorrow as Barbie has some more either ready to can or to eat. There's no telling how many quarts and pints of goodies she would have had put up if we hadn't eaten some along as well as giving some too our favorite granddaughter that lives around the corner.:D

Not something you'd find around here, either, but it sure sounds good.

I remember driving through the Catskills with a friend and we stopped at a diner and found mushroom soup on the menu. Just like at home for both of us! The waitress couldn't understand why we were so excited to find mushroom soup.

Welcome back. No more fooling around, OK? It's bad for our hearts and blood pressure.

Thanks Joe, and I'll try no more fooling around as it seems to always turn up to be a pain in the arse except a bit higher or a pain in the neck.
I had an old and bold doc tell me several times long ago that if a man wanted to live a long and happy life all he needed to do was get something seriously wrong with hisself and then take care of it.
It's done a fair job so far but only fair.:o :grumpy:

He removed the C-4 vertebrate, cleaned it up and put part of it back as it’s always best to use your very own parts and pieces whenever possible.
Geez, you talk like the doc was working on an old car! Well, I think everybody here would agree you're a classic. :D

Liquid diets are terrible. As the swallowing gets easier, throw some corned beef in a slow cooker and let it go six hours or so, then eat the fattier bits. They go down easy and taste delicious.

It's good to see you're out of the woods, but prayers will continue! God speed your recovery.

Intubation, bad memories.

The doctor told me I shouldn't, but I remember when they took it away last time. It was a mouth surgery so it was in my nose. The sound was like in the first Matrix when they take the cable out of Neo's brain the first time.

Bad feeling.

So now, Yvsa got his pivot cleaned and had a titanium framelock installed, did I got this right?

Sounds like a tough go, but your a tough old go at anyway!

Your report sounds promising, best wishes on your speedy recovery.

Y'alls comments are as good as a bunch of wild ndns could do, that's a compliment by the way. ;) :D

Yvsa,What the hell happened????I haven't been around.Smokes up anyway.Be well.Titanium is good.

I'm a little slow on this, but glad everything went well and you're feeling feisty. Hope the good progress continues, especially getting the vittles down.

Thanks everyone.:) Fingers still tingly but I'm slowly regaining either use or new ways of doing old things. Vittles are going down well now, just not quite so many of 'em. I managed to weigh on our good digital scales today and I'm down to 246 pounds, back where I was a few months ago when I was dieting *and* working out.
I'm calling my Dr. tomorrow to see if I can start walking outside again seeing as how the weather is cooling down just a bit and the fact that I took three steps yesterday without holding onto anything. :)
