Ladies first: Yangdu just about took the tip of her left index finger off this AM. She's been very good about not cutting herself and that's a good thing because when she does it she does it right. She bled profusely but remembering my Boy Scout days I had her bandaged and no bleeding in record time. However, Yangdu is a leftie so now she's going to be essentially one handed for awhile. She claims she can't type so here I am just home from near death at St. Mary's and she has me working 8 hours a day. You can't win. Oh, Yangdu said if anybody wants a blood blessed 18 inch Samsher email her and she'll make you a deal.

And, I'm back home. Problem was I allowed myself to become TOO dehydrated. Went in St. Mary's at 128 pounds and came out at 145. Talked with a pain management doctor while in hospital and he changed my med regimin and I've been pain free for a week and it feels great. I'm feeling pretty well but still weak and woozy from narcotics. I just can't see what the druggies get out of the narcotics. I hate the damned stuff with a passion.

The cancer is going to get me unless a miracle intervenes which it might but I can tell you if I can stay out of the high level pain that cancer is going to learn a thing or two about human survival.

So glad you are home. If you weren't just home from the hospital, Yangdu would have you working twice that much. :)

Hopefully, she'll heal fast. Much be tough to have to make sure each of the HI khuks taste blood when you've got so many!!! That's probably how you got so dehydrated.

WELCOME HOME, Uncle Bill. Great to hear from you - prayers and smoke going up for you and Yangdu from the heart of Texas.

Damn its good to hear from you Uncle Bill! Your humor is missed.

Very sorry to hear about Aunt Yangdu. :(

I hope she is not in pain. I guess you can "deal" some of your good stuff. :)

Take care, rest as much as you can.

Great to see you posting, Uncle Bill:) It's also good to hear that you're going to give that cancer hell until the bitter end. As a person that is frequently cut (and often cuts himself badly), i can feel Yangdu's pain. I hope she heals up quick:) Once again, great to see you back in the saddle.

Jake

I'm smiling just to see you post, Bill. It makes me feel good just to see your attitude in print. :)

Sorry about Yangdu's finger.

Be well and safe.

Welcome home!! Glad you are feeling better! Now to get Yangdu back up to speed. Well, you can't have everything you know  Both of you take care and heal!!

I'm not going to blame the blade; but being the one that bit Yangdu is no recomendation to me. I'll pass.

Glad she's alright. They must have sewn it up.

Uncle Bill,

Glad to here you are back at home and are feeling at bit better.

Tell Yangdu that you only need two fingers to type. At least that's all I need.

Chuck

Thanks for the update Uncle Bill. Sorry to hear about the finger Yangdu :) I have been there myself. Both of you take care of yourselves.

Home is where the heart is, and evidently some blood too. Best of luck and I hope the cut heals quickly.

Sorry too hear about Yangdu. Tell her we all said too be much more careful as some of the new khukuris are very sharp compared too the extremely dull ones she always used too send too me. :p ;) :D

Agree about the drugs Bill. My pain mgmt Dr won't give me enough too feel woozy, hell he doesn't give me enough too completely alleviate the pain, just enough that I can function like a sort of half assed human.

But what the druggies get out of the meds are a lot different than what those in chronic pain get out of them.
For us they just take the edge off or kill the pain enough to function. A person in chronic pain will never get addicted too the drugs as we look at them in a different way.
I've thought about asking about getting a morphine pump installed for my back but I just can't hardly get used too the idea of having a jug of morphine placed under my skin that I would have too get filled every month.
I oughta ask over in Community if anyone here has one and how they do with them.

I love your sense of humor, Bill. I am so glad you are recovering and home. Regards to Yangdu and hope she heals very quickly. Yet another good example of what these babies can do to us and how we can never let down our guard :)

Damm! It's great to see you posting again Bill. :D I'm equally glad to see you're not in pain! :)

Dehydrated...What happened to the hienies!?
Seriously, getting dehydrated can really mess you up and most of the time you don't even know it's happening.

I'm sorry for Yangdu's slip. You've got me cringing. I'm hoping it was nothing requireing stiches.

both of you take care

again it's great to see you posting!

God bless you both! Sorry about Yangdu's finger. Glad you're back. I'm grinning like the cat that ate the canary! So so happy your pain is less.

Steve

Glad you are out of the hospital.

I hope that Yangdu heals quickly. Fingers heal faster than feet.
My thumbs are not quite the same shape, since I once used a hand saw on my left thumb. The area beyond the nail is more blunt-shaped on my laft hand, but you have to look pretty closely. It does hurt when you cut your fingers, but it should heal fast.

I hate staying in hospitals - home is much better.
