Hi everyone,

after a long break from the forum... I am back. Both business and personal life has kept me very busy as of late. I would like to once again take an active part in the forum conversation. My goal is to challenge the board members to use their strongest survival tool... their brain. Thus the improvising concept and questions.

Just finished a trip and am preparing for another... Hoorah.

Best to all,

Great to feel like I'm with the living again. Just finished a trip and am preparing for a few more. Lots of Medical stuff also going on. I have accepted a position with the Walla Walla VA Hospital that will allow me more time to run wilderness programs. I start there in June.

Seems like time is always escaping. I may improvise more hours in the day to meet my schedules.

Good to hear from you, Plainsman.

Best

(read: heck muggy) but less rainy than in Washington State.
Good to hear from you, Greg.

Hi Greg. I'm new to the forums and I guess when I first came here you were away. Nice to meet you

My name is Adam btw.

Just a stab but WALLA WALLA is in WASHINGTON state and VA is Veterans Administration!

I don't think Greg left the WEST coast! :lol

Correct me if I'm wrong Greg, but Martin Archery distributes out of Walla Walla too, so I think I'm right.

Yes.... Walla Walla is in Washington State (the southeastern side). The town is very nice. approx. 35K population. It gets 300 days of sunshine and is at the base of the Blue Mountains. Since it is in the wine belt of washington, I am sure I will do a taste test...

The VA hospital will allow me to spend more time running wilderness programs...

I am excited for the change.

Congratulations of the new job, Greg!

You found a great place, I had some friends who were at the Seventh Day Adventist college there many years ago and they loved it. After being up here for a quarter of a century now I can't even imagine what 300 days of sunshine a year would be like.

I'd think the hospital job will give you a lot more time for wilderness stuff - probably hunting down patients who've gone off on winery tours...

Oh well, I guess I was wrong about the state....
Anyway, 300 days sunshine sounds good to me and pit stops at the farmers' wine cellars remind me to my hiking trips of younger years back in Old Eu. The tricky part is to climb the stairs up from the cool cellar on a hot summer day

. One of the worked out "survival drinks" on those hot days was the white wine (cheap and dry is fine) mixed with cold seltzer water in 1:3, 1:1 or 3:1 ratio. Yum-yum......
Since dehydration is a serious threat, it might be worth to share it with the Forum. Any comment or better suggestion on that?
Again, good luck with the new job and best to all,

HM
