I didn't know where to post this... here or community but whatever.

*knife content follows*
I got a LCC D/A ... It's awesome.

I'm back from ITB at Ft. Benning. I'm an 11 Charlie (mortar infantryman) but I'm also Bravo qualified. It was a long hard road but now that I'm finished, I can say "too easy". I'm home on 2 weeks of leave and HRAP so I'll be on the forums when I'm not partying. On the 23rd, I report to Ft. Campbell for air assault school and then it looks like the big sandbox from there. I'll definitly try to stay in touch. For now, though, it's great to be home.

HOOAH!

Soldier, you've got every right to be proud!
Good luck at Air Assault school.

Always remember, Airborne is a one-way ticket--once you're on the ground it's all leg-work again.
But Air Assault Soldiers fly in AND fly out!

Good luck,
Allen.

If they let you have the leave, that is.

Two weeks of leave and then at least, I'm assuming, a few weeks of air assult school (Why would you assult air? How do you assult air? I don't know.), by the time you're ready to roll, the big sandbox will be an ashtray and you'll be headed for Korea, your next stop on the exclusive "Axis of Evil Tour."

Matt, I have a question to ask you that I would rather do by email. It seems the email address that you have in your profile is no longer working.

"how do you assault air?"

With a BIG helicopter--beat the air into submission.

Concerning "enjoying" the leave...definitely ENJOY it (drink to excess, etc-minus climbing behind the wheel). Just don't forget to run every once in a while...no mercy when you return and are trying to overcome all those carbohydrates that you packed on:)

Maybe "air assult" is like "air guitar" where you just pretend you have a gun?

Solidsoldier,

D'oh! (Ichabod slaps head). *knife content* I have an LCC for sale.

Seriously, glad you're back, safe, buying knives and joking around. Keep in touch.

Matt, glad to "see" you back again! Keep in shape. You may well indeed find yourself in Korea or thereabouts. Or "nation rebuilding" in Iraq. Who knows nowadays? Who ever knows? :)

Stay safe,

Karl

Hi Matt, glad to hear that you are back home. Hope you enjoy the training you will be getting.

Congratulations, and enjoy your leave. It's kind of hard not to after going through all of that crap, believe me I know. The best part for me was just sleeping in for three extra hours, all the way till 7:30 :D . Best of luck in Air Assault too, and I'll second the suggestion to run. I have a friend who went to AA a couple of months ago, he said that it was tough but worth it.

Congratulations. I have a tremendous respect for anyone tough enough to make it through Basic.

very cool, I prob will be headed out for basics in january and then fun training till july so congrats for finishing and thanks for fighting.
