Im backkkkkkkkkkk

Awesome!!

Hopefully I'll get off my lazy arse after winter and do some of this stuff!

Glad you had a good time!!

sasha, I think you want a two pronged approach. Something like Tecnu to strip the oils off you and then follow that home with an antihistamine like CalaGel.

On this page someone suggests Zanfel but believes it expensive. I guess that's a relative thing. http://parents.berkeley.edu/advice/health/poisonoak.html

I'd probably wade in with a medi-swab 'cos I have them handy, and then hit it with some common antihistamine bite-n-sting stuff just 'cos I have that to hand too.

The med my friend used was Zanfel. He thought it was very expensive (about $27) when he bought it but incredibly cheap after it worked. He told me that CVS has a generic equivalent that costs more like $10-15 and works.

Just wait till ya seen me backside ............. That would be the death of ya

Great pics at least you get the chance to see what you needed and make adjustments .I hope for a speedy recovery for the PO. I know much that stuff sucks big time, Especially on your face and ears.
Oh what kind of Bivi did you use?

Hi GEC i used REI bivi bag Paid for it about $89. It worked good but with the very high humidety i did have some condensation at the bottom of the bag. But still i were very warm all night.

One other thing to remember never go to sleep sweaty. I hiked about 2 miles before i found a place to set up my camp. I were fairly sweaty and could feel the chill with the breeze. Ended up taken my shirt off to let it dry in the wind and the sweat of my body. It sound as the wrong thing to do to take everything off with a cold wind but as soon as i dried i felt warmer. Puting back a dry shirt helps alot. This trip was a good lesson.
Rock i would let everyone know how Zanfel works. I cant go to work with my face all puffed up. Yea its getting worse every hour.

Well I did get the generic copy of Zanfel. It cost about 27 and the Zanfel was more in the $49 range. The ingredients seem to be the same with the same %.. I cant realy say it helped me any. Today i can see with my right eye.It was swollen shut yesterday. Neck ears, nose and the right eye are swollen. The only time im not as happy that i spend time in that area. Been thinking that if i still had to deal with it out there with real survival it wouldnt be as easy. Being sick would make it much much harder and im not even talking about broken bones. Aye im miserable for the last three days. But again i did learn a few good lessons.

Sorry to hear that. My friend has used both versions and says it works like a miracle on him.

Best of luck with your recovery.

DWK2 How long after he touched the P.O did he use it??? Did he recover completly or it just made it go away faster.. How offten did he use it... I just want to know maybe im not using it right... I did follow direction on the box. Right now im willing to try anything. My eye hurts my lips hurt and i look like a leper that is on his last days..I HATE POISON OAK

Sasha

The first time he delayed about a day or two because he didn't previously know about Zanfel and it took some calls to learn about it and find out where to buy it. He followed the directions and suppressed a fairly major outbreak.

The second time, he had a pretty minor exposure and immediately started applying the little bit left in the original tube. When he went to buy more, he decided to try the cheaper generic (looks like even that has gone up a lot!). About a year later he got another (moderate) dose of PO and immediately started the generic. Seemed to work just as well as the name brand.

Sorry to learn it isn't having the same curative effect on you.
