I have the k type thermo couple what type of digital readout do I need for up to like 2200f deg and where is the best place to get it?
Thanks Anthony

I really dont need an actual controller on the forge I hoped there was just a digital readoout some where found some on fleabay but they just were not the right temps.
Thanks Anthony

I bought one of THESE brand new on eBay for $40 and it's been great. They were around $400 or $500 when a current model.

I have several TC's I can plug into it so it has multiple uses, primarily to verify quench oil temp, tempering oven and heat treat oven.

You just use the PID as a readout. If you ever want to control things it is already there, too.

I wanted the convenience of a temp. readout on the front of the forge so I got a unit that was mounted on sheet metal that I could weld to the forge frame:

(the thermocouple placement is on the right above the gas/air intake)

It was made by Vulcan Kilns (http://vulcankilns.com/)

Hope this helps.
