Like most anything, they're all over the place. I've got some very good Filipino Handmade balisongs, I tend to use the shorthand FHM which seems to have caught on. Of course, there's also the tourist trash which can be really bad.

Welcome Shiela...and yes...a BM would be a good choice, but there are some very nice knives made in your country. Sadly.., not so many now-a-days, but there are a few good makers still left in Buli and the Barrios around Taal.
