I'm getting a small in a trade with Jaxurman next week. What should I do. Rent a tux, throw a wild party, or just plan on a quiet evening with me and my Sebenza. The anticipation is growing.

Congrats kutch! A quiet evening alone with your Sebbie would be in order.:) Brace yourself for the experience of a lifetime...the Sebenza is that good. Now, if you can just get through the waiting part......

I too am waiting for my first Sebenza. I'm already thinking of the next one...

Don't know what I'm going to do when it arrives. It should arrive on my Birthday - Maybe I'll take the rest of the day off from work.

Amen! I bought my first Large Classic about 6 weeks ago and have added a Small Standard, Mountaineer I and have an LDC09 on the way.

You could also consider starting to prep most of your other knives to be sold... to finance more Sebenza's.

Really though, since I've gotten mine I save almost everything else for the real dirty jobs and times when I know I'll risk damaging the knife.

At this point the only production folder I own that I like as much as my Reeve's is my MOD CQD MKII.

Pour yourself two fingers of Single Malt and Light up a Macanudo because now you know about the finer things in life my friend

You've gotten some good advice above. I might add that Sebenzas, as designed and built by Chris Reeve, are tools, not idols. Treat the thing as what it is; a well designed, well executed quality instrument to accomplish specified, designed intended tasks. In other words, a tool, not an idol.

BTW, congratulations!:)

I'd start by getting in your car, fastening your seat belt securely, and making sure that your airbag is loaded. Then open the box. :)

Just have to sit back and stare at it awhile after you first open the package. You are the proud owner of the finest production folder for the money! These things beg to cut something and resharpen so easily!   Enjoy!!:p ;)

My boss couldn't find me all day as I was camped in the mailroom waiting for the package from Mike Payne... ;)

Yep...sit back and treat yourself to a fine cigar and beverage of choice.....maybe one of these stogies here!

I believe this box of cigars sells for about $450...almost as much as the Blue Sebenza :D

Ok Red........as long as you still got a job, waiting in the mailroom is Ok for Sebbies!

I received the package from Mike Payne. I knew what was inside. I went and poured a small snifter of Courvoisier. I took my time opening the box and enjoying the Cognac. When I got to the white tissue, I gently cut off the tape and began unrolling the knife slowly. A blue thumb stud came into view. It was almost a religious experience. The next things to come into view were the most perfectly finished titanium scales I had ever seen. (Here, I took another sip of cognac.)
When my Sebenza was fully unwrapped, I just stared at it. (Another sip.) Finally, slowly I began to thunb it open. Just as the blade reached it's fully open position there was a mechanical CLICK! I tried to wiggle the blade. No chance, it was like a one-piece knife! I carefully ran the blade down the inside of my left arm. Every hair that the blade touched seemed to hop right off my arm!
I finished the Cognac and sat back and stared at my new Sebenza and my (now smooth) left arm. My Sebenza is easily the BEST folder it has been my privilege to own. I poured some more Cognac and stared some more. (Thinking of the Umfaan that I knew I was going to have to possess.)

I may have to try me some of that Cognac myself. It seems like it could enhance the Sebenza experience :D

1. Al-kuh-hawl-ic beerverage of yer choice...lots uvvit.
2. A little WWF Pro Rasslin' on the tube
3. shave yer legs, arms, and yer wife's naughty bits with new Sebenza
4. pass out on floor
5. let the itchin begin the next week

The Sebenza series is quite simply poetry in motion. Little works of art that you can carry in you pocket! All this time, it's still shaving sharp...How do they get the blade to be like that?
It is truly amazing. (And yes, the Cognac just seems to go with the knife. Two first class items.) :)
