I'm getting on the boat. HELP

I handled an Mini Grip not too long ago and it was hard for me to open because it was so small (I have med. glove size hands). They may break in better than I originally thought though.

I love this community!
Thank you all for helping me out and giving good/bad feedback on my suggestions.
:)

Buy both. That's what I would end up doing. Last time I was on-line looking for a knife, I ended up with 4.

Feed the addiction. Feed it.

If you have the ways and means, I would highly recommend the Alaska Guide 110 in Paul Bos treated S30V. As well, the coating is tough as nails and protects the blade very well.

I agree the Skyline and the Mini Griptilian are two very different knives. 154cm steel is going to hold an edge longer than the 14c28n. As for rust resistance the Mini Grip is going to be better because it comes in a satin finish or a black coated finish and the Skyline is bead blasted so it's more likely to rust.

I removed the blade from my Skyline and mirror polished it with Mothers Mag Polish. Blade looks great and no rust issues since I did it.

If you don't have a Buck 110 - you need one! It's an American classic - and the knives, whether bought in WallyWorld for <$30 or from a corner hardware store at full MSRP ($64), the knife is the same - and it was made in the USA (The leather sheath is from Mexico while the nylon one is from the PRC.), only the sheath and the packaging (clamshell or box) differ from store to store. Cabela's does offer a 'special' version only they sell - the Alaskan Guide 110. It has a grey-black coating over it's S30V blade with a gold 'A.G.' emblem - and usually sells for most of $100. You can get S30V as a blade choice - if you order a custom-made 110 from Buck's Custom Shop - check their website. My custom 110 below, with nickel silver bolsters, blue Dymondwood scales, s30V blade, and a nylon sheath would cost you $86 delivered now - and likely only take a few weeks.

To see if you like the feel of the 110 - and it is a significant sized pocketable knife - try one out in a store - or buy one from wherever you find them the least expensive - like WallyWorld, Academy Sports, Dick's, etc. My least favorite Benchmade is my full size 551 Grip - and I'll never own a smaller Grip, either. Not so fond of the Kershaw Skyline, either. Love the 110!
