I think Mike Turber/Spark are OK guys, There testing has been more than Fair, and all they get is BS for stating Fact,,well I for one am going to help them prove one of those Points. And no this wasn't Solicited from Mike/spark
(they don't even know, so Shussshhhh!) LoL.

Well, IM willing to go out on a LIMB so to speak, I am willing to DUPLICATE the Roof cutting Test in the same amount of time with a Double (OH NO!) Brass Guarded, 1/4 inch Full bevel Flat Ground, Zone hardened blade
with a 7 inch length from the Guard face, COMBAT PATROL BOWIE, Sound like a Plan???

I just happen to Live by Wally`s Tow yard,
who also happens to be my LANDLORD!! 8-)
I think finding Various Cars to Abuse wont be hard. I think they even have seat belts i could cut up afterwards... 8-)

I would be willing to Let anyone (MARION, your TAPING it!!) witness this Unprecedented
event (using mere 5160) hahaha!! that wishes to view it. Kevin too If he wishes to FLY on up to little OLE Spokane. ( he can even bring his SWAT team with him) LMAO.

So MIKE/SPARK what do you think??? Id even be willing to do it also with a Busse or something if someone wants to send me one to do it with. I mean i know its kinda Funny,,,But i only seem to have my Knives around here!! 8-)

Do you have a way to do a MPEG or such Format to review the results Mike/Spark??
So the Masses can view this Profound DeBunkery of Mythical magnitude.

I `ll Do it in 2/3 weeks if I get enough Members interest and if Mike and Spark want me too,

I figure if i can(and we dont know yet,hehehe!!)
cut a sunroof in the Top of a Automobile,then Extracate MARION DAVID POFF`s Brother Brian by the (get your Butt out of the new Sunroof Technique)that is after i cut the Remaining 4/5 seat belts holding him in the seat(im going to Rig it special!!) IF and I say IF i can accomplish
this in under 8 Minutes 30 seconds i will have proved 5 things ;

1. I could do it.
2. MIKE was right in his theory.
3. i did it faster than the original Testers/and knife
4. Had Faith enough in my Knives to do it.
5. Answered GeneL74`s Question... 8-)

I want to see two mpeg files of this, so you're gonna need two video cameras. On is a close-up of the knife, the other is pulled back of the whole scene.

Post those mpegs and let's all see.

Given the sensitive nature of this issue, the title of this thread itself may be attacked for bias. How about, "I'm going to duplicate the Roof Cutting Test, and regardless of the result, I will share it publically 'as is' for peer review"?

Just heading off a potential problem. Otherwise, someone might perceive you as biased for Mike and Spark.

SB yes you are exactly Right,that is my Sole intention,,To DUPLICATE,exceed if possible.

I basically have always thought the Original Test Criteria presented as a Feat of performance levels,to induce you to buy
wasn`t that big of a feat in my own opinion.

I also Rationed that if even as Mike Turber
mentioned ,If a Taiwan/ KAbar/ whatever knife.
can do the same thing...then a rational person who needed to have a knife that had to perform that specific task could save alot of money and buy the latter.

Mike and SPark have done alot of testing
and have been run through the ringer for it,
i expect the same. But its hard to Dispute
hard Video Proof.

Heck if i cant do it, i`ll even Admit in Public i was Wrong and For Cutting Instant SUnroofs in Automobiles , The Original ATAK`s in the test Out Did My Knife!!,,,KEVIN as i have always said Does make a HELL of a knife!!
Some heat treat issues in my opinion but a HELL of a Blade. Cool Designs and Good Fit and finish.

Anyway yes you were right this is To DUplicate the test with Various knives and report the Facts on Video for all of them Make it or NOT!!

Why the time constraint. What happens if you can't get it done in 8 minutes and 30 seconds? All it means is that the guys doing the test were stronger or better at cutting cars than you.

I agree with Will... the time constraint is only worthwhile if you have people there in a similar physical condition who have the Jaws of Life...

I'll also second what was said above - make sure that you have something to beat the knives with, like a polycarbonate baton.

I don't have a problem with this, but lets try to be as objective as possible with this.

At the risk of being ridiculed for trying to inject a faint hint of objectivity into this 'project,' may I suggest two things:

First, try and use the same type car as Mad Dog's LEO friends did.

Secondly, do not put Brian Poff into the car until the hole has been made. Then stop the stopwatch, and put him into the car and strap him in, and start it again when the crew begins to try and extract him. Otherwise, make sure he wears knifeproof head gear.

Yep you all make Valid testing Criteria points. The time Limit was just a way to Judge,,I think i can beat that time limit,but Just performing the task is what im really looking at.

The Original test had like 2 swat officers with 2 knives doing the same task,and im just One person with One knife(at a time)
doing it. So The Time thing could be Questionable.

As for The sugestions on the Safety issues Concerning BRIANS head,,SAFTEY is my utmost Concern and, i will be most Cautious and carefull of all Individuals there...this is for Fun and Enlightenment...Not to get people hurt.

Stay tuned this is gonna be a KICK!!!

PS......WHAT kind of Car did they USE??
Looks like an Import in the Magazine.

Another thing on the original test how did those perforations get RUST all over them if the Test was just happening from Scratch??
never did figure that out..I want to start with a BARE intact ROOF and go from there not one with perforated Rusty holes already started.
