I just got my Case black bone Sowbelly! It is a tall knife. The blades are tall and the handle is tall. It's a big ole pig!

I don't know if it is the curvy handle or what, but for such a big knife it doesn't carry too bad. Or maybe I am just getting used to carrying a bigger knife.

It feels great in the hand. About 5 minutes on the sharpmaker and these true sharp blades are as sharp as any I have witnessed. I've got zdp, and s30v, and d2 and all that.

I've been using it at work (electrician) and it seems to be holding up great.

I know you all need some pictures, I'll try to get my butt in gear on that!

Who else has and loves a Sowbelly? It's ok speak up and don't be ashamed!

I bought one and it was a light grey not black so I gave it away as a gift, but I really like the size and feel.

Me do. Lots. I like most of the three-blade patterns, mainly because I whittle & carve a lot. Generally, on a Sowbelly, the spay opens into a position where the knife handle is almost a pistol grip. Very good placement in the hand for woodwork. Works really well for "ball-in-a-cage-on-a-chain" detailing. Actually, I like this pattern a little better than the standard Whittler. Case's Tru-Sharp is really good steel. I'm slowly being won over on it.

thx - cpr

Your acquisition of the sowbelly and the associated satisfaction sounds like a deliverance of sorts.

Ain't no laws like that in Aintree?? :p

This is the second time I've heard "ball in a cage" referred to. The first time was in one of Jack Knife's stories. Anyone have a pic of a ball in the cage?

Of course, there are sowbellies, and there are sowbellies (and they're all good)...

There he goes again! Like a zombie biting more victims! Soon we'll have an army of infected sowbelly lovin' zombies across the continent! :D

Well that post went better than I thought it would :D

Congrats on the find. I guess my next purchase needs to be a good whittler.

Dang Elliot,
I only have so many children to sell for knife money and you have to go and show me those? But seriously, that Ruple is is the best looking Sowbelly I have seen.

Which one? The stag or the bone?

Thanks for the good words. (I hope your kids aren't reading over your shoulder. :p)
