I'm in love with cloud carbon fiber

if you close your eyes, does it feel like cheap plastic, like G10 kinda does?

why do people like it so much? Actually curious.
I thought about making some scales, but I know it's a nightmare to work with, so I have been reluctant.
Yes, I would say it does have the feeling of cheaper plastic when it's finished smooth without that epoxy vibe. .

The way that the Thunderbird was done with milling.the texture is quite nice if this makes any sense. They both have different feeling because they were both finished different

I think I was attracted to it originally because I have so much other carbon fiber. It kind of gets boring getting the same stuff you know. It's a little flamboyant stands out and is unapologetic. I would not use it on a dress up piece but for some play.

Love some sambuca or some ouzo!

Been over 3 decades but one never forgets when something looking like that comes out of one😜....
I thought something was wrong with.me till my buddy laffed his ass off at me..........🤔.....😱.......
Sure was tasty though......

It doesn't feel like cheap plastic to me. I really like the feel of smooth, contoured/machined carbon fiber. I've always thought that it has a little bit of a charcoaly, chalky feeling. Quite nice imo. Although it all depends on what kind of CF, and how it's finished. Although I'm not one who usually likes rough texturing on my knife scales or big jimping.

It's durable for rough, hard use?

I'm going to have to try it

Well, I haven't put my carbon fiber scaled knives through too torturous of an experience, however I've definitely never had a problem with it's durability. And come to think of it, I can't remember ever really seeing pictures of any carbon fiber splintering or anything on a knife handle. It's very strong stuff. I'd think that it's definitely more durable than micarta, and perhaps even g10. Good stuff.

Carbon fiber is a very nice knife handle material. Definitely durable. Slippery, but that is easily worked around with some strategic handle shaping. The patterns in the OP are a little too loud and busy for my liking, but I can understand the appeal they might have for some people.
