Oliver,

I have one Village model 12” AK left. I’ll bring that. Take a look at the villagers, not as nicely finished but in some ways a better field tool w/steel butt cap and more convex grind.

Good field knife. For those traditionalists here please skip this paragraph if you have either a weak heart or stomach. The one I carried I made a sheath out of some PVC pipe, basically heated it w/a heat gun and molded flat. Riveted and glued a couple of other pieces of the pipe to fit a riggers belt. Carried it above the belt horizontally at the small of the back edge up. Under utilities couldn’t see it and could adjust gear and packs so it was out of the way yet didn’t interfere w/comfort even while sitting in a chair. Now I am being forced to set up some MOLLE gear… I had painted the metal w/semi-black Krylon and used some Tung oil on the handle. It survived the P.I., Borneo and Thailand alright.

The one I carried I gave to a Chief Warrant Officer off my uniform the day before I left my old unit. It’s somewhere deployed now.
