That last pic really shows the raindrop pattern well. Looks great!

Do you know what steels the Damascus is made from?

Very nice little knife, Jason. You're on a bit of a roll...Watch that slippery slope, it's a long way down. LOL!

Wow! Thats a very nice peanut. Here I am trying to be minimalist for the rest of my life and I see this. I just may have to get one. Should I? That's always been a last temptation, a damascus peanut. I wonder if my dad would have carried a damascus peanut if they had been available back then?

Who has them, by the way?

I got mine from a forum member. You can find lots them from online retail stores with different handle scales. I could not find any for sale with the 6.5 stag scales.

EDIT: Now that I look at it again...the scales might be "burnt amber bone" hmm.....

Jason,

Here's an image of a bone stag version from the net for comparison's sake:

A Damascus Peanut in Sambar Stag would be the Holy Grail of knives for me. That might be the only knife I ever purchase without much thought. With other knives, I always weigh pros, cons and price. A Sambar Damascus Peanut would just get purchased without question. :D

I have one of those morrowJ_98. I carry mine too. They really did a nice job on them, perfect out of the box. The handle is the peach seed burnt amber bone, I think.

Jackknife, I think you've been eyeballing these for awhile! You better just snag one while you can! :D

This is the one I have, the one I use everyday.... the one that skinned the alligator. It's like a little samurai sword in my pocket. I can imagine how cool that Damascus one would be!! Careful, Jackknife. You'll fall off the minimalist bandwagon if ya give in to that Peanut!!!

I bought my son the damascus stockman for Christmas and have wanted to get one for myself ever since the day his knife came in the mail. Now I'm thinking a peanut might be a better idea, that way we could tell our knives apart. :)

morrowj_98,

Very nice Peanut indeed!

Re: jackknife wanting one.

I got a nickel and put me down for 2/22/08 as to when when jackknife gets one of these.
Who is taking the nickels and doing the pot around here ?

*wink*

Amber Bone, one of CASE'S best scale options in my view!

How does Damascus stand up to use? What's the sharpening like and corrosion aspects anyone?

sm2, the man has a problem that he's finally got under control!! Don't be an enabler!!!!!!
Jackknife, repeat after me:
"I am a minimalist.
I don't need another knife.
I am a minimalist."

LOL:cool:

I, on the other hand, don't HAVE a problem. I can quit buying Peanuts anytime I want. I just choose not to want to stop right now. I really like and want that knife.;)

Okay, I am a minimalist,
I don't need another knife,
I am a minimalist.

The heck I don't, this is a damascus peanut!

I swear it will be my last knife purchase. Really. I just have a very hard time resisting a great peanut. Now if it was in a nice stag I wouldn't resist at all, I'd ge gone instantly.

The thing that keeps me from getting one (so far) is that I tend to scratch blades a bit when I sharpen them (lousy technique, I know). I don't care much about scratches on an ordinary knife blade, but I'd hate to bugger up damascus.

I've noticed that small scratches and marks don't seem as noticeable on Damascus blades. Maybe others have different experience.
