I swear it will be my last knife purchase. Really. I just have a very hard time resisting a great peanut. Now if it was in a nice stag I wouldn't resist at all, I'd get gone instantly.

Jim I was going to give you a PM for a link :eek: I have a Stag Peanut with Damascus Blades from the nineties. Will get a pix up when I get it dug out.
 
I have a Case Damascus Small Coke Bottle Jack from the 80s made with 512 layer Parker Damascus, (I don't know who mad the damascus for Parker but some was sold to Case IIRC for the run of Damascus blades I believe it was the only run, if I'm mistaken someone please correct me.

Do you know if yours was part of that run, mine is super sharp and takes a nice razor edge, just watch for rustin', keep it clean and wiped down.

1989 - 5120 D - genuine stag - damascus blade - $82.00
This may be the one dpzer has. Would Case do an SFO for BFC? :D
 
I bought a case damascus peanut recently and was disappointed. One spring was lazy, blade wont close all the way and the point sticks up out of the frame. I need to call case about it. If you're getting a new one, make sure you can either see it before buying or be able to return it.

Damascus Peanuts. I think the Stag is an 1989 1 dot. The Raindrop Damascus is 2007

The 89 1 dot has the same pattern as my Coke Bottle Case that was the Parker Damascus.

Fine knife Excellent F&F, great walk and talk, it became an EDC immediately, albeit only for special occasions and Sundays.:D
 
I've been carrying a large stockman amber bone with the raindrop blade every day since Christmas. I was a little worried at first but now I use it to cut stuff like every other knife. The damascus holds a very good edge once you take the initial wire edge off that every Case I've ever bought comes with. I have noticed near the tip of the clip point blade the etching seems to be getting scuffed away a bit. Other than that you'd think it was new. I'm glad I decided to make it a user - great knife with a great blade steel.

I'm really thinking about a damascus Peanut to keep it company and all these pictures you guys keep posting is making it hard to resist.
 
With all the damascus peanut talk I could not take it any more and pulled the trigger on an amber bone. I edc an samber stag ss peanut and it serves me well. It gives me an excuse to have one for dress up.
