I'm looking for a horizontal belt knife

http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1253560-Infinite-innovations-from-710

Take a look at that. I am a fan of azwelke and 710 for citation sheaths.

In regards to knives, I would suggest the bk11 or 14/24.

+1 to this

The 710 also makes custom knives that are in your price range.

my other suggestion would be http://www.coyleoutdoors.com/

Dexwithers is a dealer here and makes an awesome sheath. I have one for my BK11

The straps are removable for left or right side draw, or pocket carry.

He makes them for a number of the BK&T line.

I also horizontal or 'scout' carry my ZT 0121. I use paracord to attach it to my belt. Not as comfortable as my sheath from Dex but it works.

Check out the Bradford Guardian 3 or lone wolf Trailmate. Both come with nice leather horizontal belt sheaths. The Trailmate has been discontinued but can still be found.

Lone Wolf (Benchmade) Trailmate. Has a very nice horizontal carry leather sheath. 154cm steel and jigged bone handle.

im a big fan of well made leather sheaths and that's a sweet knife/sheath combo....looks very comfortable to carry, I might have to pick one up for one of my Izulas

And the entire rig only weighs 6.6oz. I don't even feel its there most of the time.

Any knife with a kydex sheath can be turned for horizontal carry. Just rotate the clips or forget the clips and just use paracord (I prefer paracord).

Without turning to custom sheath options, a stock ESEE Izula 2 can be carried horizontally quite comfortably using a paracord wrap...

Good luck, OP! :)

I've always had great results with this method. I find that paracord holds it more snug to my belt compared to the Spyderco G-clips (although my bro prefers them). Plus you can attach it in any direction you like.

I dig a G-clip for horizontal carry. They can be worn with or without belts which I like. Para cord is a good solution but it must be threaded through the belt.

For a knife that size I prefer a Spyderco Street Beat.

Not really in the size your looking for but I've got the cold steel kobun with a tek-lok that is quick to put on the belt and holds the sheath tight when the knife is pulled out.

You should also take a look at the Benchmade Hidden Canyon Hunter. It's a small fixed blade that comes with a horizontal sheath. Blade length is 2.67" and it's made of CPM-S30V steel. It comes in two styles. G-10 handle and a Kydex sheath, or Dymondwood handle (a compressed wood laminate, nice looking IMO) with a leather sheath. They are reasonably priced too.

Tldr: +2 for Tate @ http://www.coyleoutdoors.com/

Man, the Bradford Guardian is exactly what you're looking for. I was on the same quest and ordered the Guardian 3". It was everything I dreamed of having. Great little sheath. Check it out before you buy.

+1 on the Guardian 3. The M390 blade might was well be a Vorpal Blade. It cuts hairs just by Looking at them. Seriously! One of the best small fixed blades for the money you can get.

I also like this idea - my Izzy II is the only knife I have (had) that fit the bill and I wanted something a bit more special so I just ordered this;

Should fit the bill nicely - Arno Bernard 35th Anniversary with Giraffe Bone scales

I'm a little surprised Winkler knives haven't been mentioned yet. Personally, I carry a Spyderco mule team blade as a horizontal belt knife everyday and it's outstanding in that capacity.

I've got my ScrapYard 311 set up in a horizontal carry position in a Buy Brown sheath. It looks great and the tek-lok setup is easy to use and you can do edge up or edge down easily. Whole setup was only ~120ish and it's a brute of a little blade.

Dan Eastland from Dogwood Custom Knives has been doing a nice 3 finger edc for horizontal carry
