I decided i wanted to make a knife for my dads birthday. I've never made one before so i had some questions. I bought a knife blank that has a hidden tang and comes with a guard and pommel. I was wondering what would be a good handle to attach to this blank, i have some nice whitetail antler and i also have a piece of epe wood. Can i put either one of this on as a whole piece or do i need to cut them into two pieces. if I use the wood as two pieces where can i get the brass to attach them and how do i do that. thanks.

Does the pommel screw onto the tang? If it does you can carefully drill a hole through the antler, fit it to the guard and pommel and then screw the assembly together. It would help if you posted some pics. You can also try googleing making knives and find a how to on what you want to do.
