I'm Not Buying Another Khuk

Glenn, I've noticed Women resist uneccesary purchases, but once made, have little trouble seeing they must be protected.

Ah...

After wanting one for some years, I finally got a .35 Whelen a little over three years ago. Took a deer with her this year (also used 2 shotguns, a .308 PSS, and a sporterized 1903- no, not at the same time! :D ).

Well, an older friend of mine, an online mentor, as it were, visited after Thanksgiving. This man is a good man, not in great health, and when I found that he had been wanting a .35 Remington Classic like mine, I inquired about his collection until I found something he was willing to trade.

I really liked that rifle, but it was just a thing, y'know? Not like a person.

We love our kuks, and other knives like the incredibly beautiful ones Pen's been turning out, but even with the spirit invested in them, they're still just things. People are ultimately what count.

(Incidentally, I know it's going to be a while before I can get any more kuks, either. Then I see those beautiful, steel-mounted villagers. Dayum. Well, some other lucky sort will get 'em.)

Thanks for the reminder people are more important than toys.

Blade forums just lost my post. But things aren't even close to friends.
Computers and their programs, however, are an important part of any HELL one might experience after death.

I can handle Bill Gates with "666" branded into his forehead. :D :D :D

Bill Gates has two toll free numbers. One is for purchasing MicroSoft products. The other is to report theft of MicroSoft products. There was a third number for a brief time. That line was to report MicroSoft products that didin't work well, or at all, and ask for help.

That line was the most used, and the first to go.

I'd also like to note that Bill Gates has stated publically that he intends to donate a large amount of his fortune to implement more gun control in the USA.

I'd like it very much if a dog urinated on Mr. Gate's leg.

edit- for Admirers of Ayn Rand- Bill Gates is better than most of you, because society rewarded him with a huge amount of money in compensation for his talent and hard work.

and the Randroids were the worst thing to happen to Objectivism, IMHO. I think that most I met were egotists, unwilling to even think openly (which is something they say they value).

Objectivists are usually class-act arguers, if you want a nice civil argument/discussion.

Keith

Randroids? They did what we all do; take a single idea or perspective and run too far with it. Life is a ball, not a line.

Ferrous, what I thought most interesting about her books was the female lead. The woman would inevitably get thrown across a desk top and almost raped by the male interest. They were too powerful to not join. Such Beings as themselves must mate. Afterwards, because of some ridiculous philosophical view, they could never be lovers or friends again. It was tragic. But of course, we the readers, understood....

Ah, yes, I always loved how Dagny Taggart was impelled by some weird hybrid of moral imperative and capitalistic drive to couple with John Galt:D . I've read Atlas Shrugged three times now  .

This goes back to Ayn's own documented weird sexual drives/desires. Apparently, she liked it rough-n-spontaneous.

Keith

Ferrous - rough-n-spontaneous is bad??? :-\ ;-)
