Last few days I've be amassing a 40 day supply of food, books, and gear and tomorrow morning I'm hitting the road for a family cabin up in canada until mid January. Been doing this for the last few years and it has become a tradition of sorts for me. No power, phones, cell or internet up there (I can always drive to town but town is a boat ride + hour and half drive away) so I won't be around these parts for a while. A few friends are dropping by (I hope so at least...) during my stay so I won't be a complete recluse (in theory). The BK's I'm taking with me:

So my question is if you were going to a cabin in the woods for over a month and had these Beckers (my entire current collection pictured below) which ones would you take? They all run stock sheaths and pick only 3...that's all the room I have at the moment or I'd take them all.

That is a lovely collection of BKs you have there. Enjoy your adventure, and try to snap some photos (assuming the Mayans were incorrect).

5,9,24... But I'd drop the 13 in the sheath pocket for a bonus!

5 can do kitchen duty, 9 does wood processing, 24 for everything else. 13 for minute wood working on the porch.

Good point on the Bk13 but I'm taking a few other knives that are not Beckers and one is the ESEE Candiru so mini knife bases are covered. I think I may miss my 5 if I leave it behind. Hmm....

The 9, 15, and the 24 are the ones I'd take. Have fun, and don't maim, injure, or kill yourself, no one will find out in time if you do.

Canada's west coast I assume? I only ask because we live in Toronto and most of the surrounding lakes will start freezing up.

Very nice Becker collection BTW.

Yep, an island halfway between Port Hardy and Prince Rupert.

9, 15, 24.
And something to sharpen them with...

I haven't messed around with a Candi yet so can't compare her to a 13. I should probably pick one of them up.

Have a great time in our lovely forests. In answer to your question I believe I would take your bk15 in case I had to dress game, birds etc. and the bk4 for light chopping, cleaning brush / brambles etc. I am biased of course because I use the 15. What a great way to spend Christmas.
