I'm outta here

Bsmith got it just right. 9 for the big stuff, 16 for most everything else, & the 14 for anything too small for a 16 to handle.
I keep a 16 & 9 with my B.O.B. & a 14 in my pocket every day.

BK16...maybe the 5 too. And a saw and an axe...and a SAK.

Got my SAK farmer packed and there are some decent saws and axes there. If the axes aren't in great shape I'll have my first tinkering project :D. And the BK5 made it into the pack instead of a pair of pruners. Who need pruners when you have a BK9 AND BK5? Sheesh....

I envy you! Rock on man. Please post trip report when you get back. Have fun and be safe!

I've got my camera and a spare battery and I will defiantly post up some trip pics when I get back. I also have a giant first aid bag, a cycle of antibiotics, and the december edition of playboy

nice.

take me with you :)

My bag is full sorry. Maybe we could work out a deal if you'd be willing to part with one of those "Warrior" versions of the Machaxe

now I really want to take a Machaxe. Crap! It's hard to leave knives behind....

Sounds like an incredible way to spend a month. Enjoy the time away!

Personally, I'd take the 16, 15 (or 5), and 9 with me.

Awesome, have fun.

If it were me I'd take the 4 and the 15 for sure (these are my 2 go-to Beckers). The 11/14/24 are too small for my hands, so I'd be torn between the 5 and the 9 for the last knife. Probably the 9.

Lucky Bastid!!!! pics when you get back. sounds like a great way to unwind!

You've got a BK16 & a 9(or 4), you're covered. Looking forward to your return and tales of debauchery. Godspeed sir!

That would be so awesome, talk about recharging your batteries... take all your knives!

Sounds like a wonderful place and 40 days to boot. Have a blast.

Knife choices for me would be an 5, 11, & probably a 16. (or a 2, or a 9, or....) You can't go wrong.

Why not take three this year and store them up there. Next year three more and on and on till you have them all up there. Then buy the complete set for home too!

I'm back!!!

I grew a beard, hunted snipes, and read five books. Awesome time. Now to play with the new knives that came in the mail when I was gone.....YES!

Any new Beckers come out? I have't been online in about a month. Outta the loop.....

Welcome back! Pix or you're blackballed from getting the super duper ultra new Beckers.

Last few days I've be amassing a 40 day supply of food, books, and gear and tomorrow morning I'm hitting the road for a family cabin up in canada until mid January.

Dude, nice. Mrs. Survivormind and myself will be doing this permanently very soon...can't wait!

If I'm limited to Beckers, BK5 for KP duty, BK16 on my belt, BK4 for heavy lifting.

If not, one of the larger ESEE/Becker kitchen knives, BK16 as a general use knife, and a small axe/large hatchet (GB SFA for example). I'm guessing you have a good sized axe and a good saw up there.

Man, that sounds like a blast! Hope you're alright up there and come back safely to tell us of your journey!

Hey Eero.....

Glad you had a great time......I spent a week over by and on Prince of Wales Island bear hunting a few years back......It is somme BEAUTIFUL country up in that neck of the woods....Can hardly wait to get back.......Looking forward to the pics and more detail........Took a cruise around that area on Google just now and it brought back a bunch of good memories ......YAY.....

All Best....

Ethan
