I e-mailed SOG (or whoever owns it) to see about a warranty repair and was told:

Thank you for contacting GSM Outdoors!

We are sorry to hear about the trouble you experienced. Please be advised that we no longer offer repairs for SOG products, nor do we have parts available. We apologize for any inconvenience.

So where do I go from here?
Thanks.

Sog still says they have a lifetime warranty on their site. What changed?

"Been there, done that", says Cold Steel fans. ;) (GSM owns Cold Steel as well, same drop in customer service).

They might replace a defective product under warranty, but as the response you received specifically says- no repairs or parts.

Maybe ask for a replacement. Good luck.

If you're able to carry automatics, the Kershaw Launch 15 is pretty awesome. Or for something closer to your SOG, the Gerber Applegate-Fairbairn does seem sort of similar (also discontinued, but you may be able to still find).

I ran into that over ten years ago with SOG. I had a mini X-ray Vision from 1999 and at some point changed the clip design around 2005. They told me they don't carry parts for "older" models. They also said no to free sharpening because it was more than 5 years old. Needless to say, I never bought another SOG.

My first one hand opener was a liner lock Pentagon Elite. Very unique blade shape with the "shark tooth" tip. I can't think of anything similar. Well, maybe the AL Mar SERE if you can find one.

Folder. Blade length over 3.5"
Which model? If it's one of the older Seki ones, yes SOG ended their relationship with G.Sakai and no doubt there are no more parts.
But if it's one of the newer/current models there's no reason they shouldn't be able to accommodate you.

Pentagon XR

I got it from an individual.
It’s missing the pin that keeps the blade from overextending back.
I’m not a knife mechanic, so I don’t know if it’s an easy fix or not.
