I'm sick and tired of black!!!

I know this topic comes up every so often, but I've caught this bug. I'm sick of black handled knives! Most of my recent acquisitions have something other than black handles - including stag, blue anodized aluminum, red jigged bone, blue jigged bone, spalted maple, grey aluminum, and white Corian. I also have a custom knife on order with California Buckeye wood handles. It's a light wood with colorful burls running through it. Even the knives that I've bought recently or have on order that do have black handles have some color in them. One has red spacers, and another had blue anodized aluminum spacers.

Anyone else sick of black?

I’ll join you in the chorus. I am fond of ivory Micarta, still, and have two knives on order using it. I like the “Pewter” anodization on the Speedtech, and even the gray handle on the Matriarch is a nice change.

I have to admit an attraction to a certain Carbon Fiber scaled knife I sent my brother a while back, but that has become the exception and not the rule.

Im not tired of black so to speak but i agree that other colours would be nice.
For example i like the BF Natives Blue G10 alot. Im also interested in the green SIFUs that people are talking about and i would very much like to see a picture so that i can tell what type of green it is. Is it like olive green, sorta like an army green or what ?

Another knife that i really like the look of is the CAS Iberia Starship that won an award at this years Blade Show. It has blue handles that look kinda anodized(?) in the photos (See November BLADE) with 3 mother of pearl circles inset. I would really like this knife but no internet dealers have it. Doh! By the way, any idea how the lock works ?

The Sebenza also looks superb. I really like the colour of the handle. I have never handled one or seen one in person but it does look nice. Currently saving for one now. Only about 3 years to go

Kelly,

I really hadn't given it much thought but given that my recent acquisitions nor on order items don't include a black handle, I'd guess that at least subconsciously I've become rather bored with basic black too.

The Simonich Talonite Carnivore sports Arizona desert ironwood. My latest Buck 532 has fossilized mastadon ivory. My PCKS Buck 110 sports rams horn. The Gelbu Special HI khukri I recently took delivery of has nice horn handles with some light coloring running through it. The "super" Wambli I have on order has been locked into spalted birdseye maple. Mmmmmm.... you may be on to something

I'm with you on this one. I'd like to see more colors in my knife collection. More blue, more green, more red; there are other colors in the rainbow other than black.

Senator,
I just had this conversation with a friend on the phone this very night!! I was going so far as to predict a call for colors as a movement in the industry in the up coming year. Hmmmmmmm.... what is this..... Mike.... Spark.... is there some subliminals being put out on this forum??

Yeah Kelly, Me too.
Just got a Buck auto conversion (110/Cumberland Mountain) and can't put it down.
It is kinda different how brass warms to the hand.
I like it for a change. And, I have something else to polish

Sorry, Photoshop crashed on me, so I just cropped the photo without reducing it. I'll try again.

OK, how's that?

Yeah, I'm also sick of black. I complain every time a thread like this comes up. By the way, I was thinking the other day and I realized that I've never seen a knife with red G-10 handles. Weird! I've seen lots of knives with blue G-10, but never red for some reason. I'd certainly buy one in a production knife.
