I'm so f* mad

I have had stuff stolen out of my suitcases when outbound from the US via LAX. Never had bad experiences through other airports (PDX, SFO, SEA). That was before 911 when you could lock your suitcases for all the good that did. And as it happened, I was always at home when I finally figured out that things were missing. Haven't had problems since 911, but by then I was avoiding LAX like the plague.

My mother in law, on the other hand had a some gold necklaces stolen from her suitcase coming to Taiwan from Singapore. About S$200 worth. Dumbass thief neglected to notice 3 or four bricks? (is that the right quantifier? looks like a brick of ramen noodles) of high-grade birdsnest right next to the gold. That was worth upwards of S$3,000. Why she ever put the birds' nest in the suitcase is more than I'll ever know, but things could have been a lot worse.

Sorry to hear about your trouble. This type of thing does leave a bad taste in your mouth.

Couple of months before the arrival of my first H.I. kuk ,I caught a would be burglar at my place .He figured that he get past my dogs who were chained up (as per city council by-laws in this neck of the woods ) and check out if I had anything worth stealing , not knowing that yours truly was at home .Truth is I am used to my dogs barking at folks waiting at the bus stop just outside my gate so I hadn't reacted at all.The bus went past and this example of human ordure was still loitering outside my gate .I realy started to take an interest when I saw him check both my own ,and my neighbours letter boxes .You may imagine his consternation as whilst in the very act of opening my gate he finally saw me watching him.While I am not given to fits of rage ,when I do blow my top it's usually quite spectacular.....accordingly I told him ,in no uncertain terms ,that if I ever saw him again,I would put an arrow into him.My demeanor must have convinced him of of my seriousness because he departed with all possible haste ,and I surely have not laid eyes on him since. VERMIN!!!
