Some months ago, while discussing potential knife projects with our own "KnifeHead", Kerry Hampton, I mentioned a few patterns that I'd be interested in pursuing with him. My thoughts at the time, which I conveyed to Kerry were: No rush, no time frame, take it slow and enjoy the process.

Well, some time has now gone by and Kerry was kind enough to send me these images of the completed knife this evening. What a treat to come home to after an evening of pre-St. Patrick festivities.

Since I don't have the knife in my hand as yet, what I can tell you is limited to the following:

Pattern: Lanny's Clip (w/ thanks to Tony Bose)
Scales: Stag
Double Bomb Shield
Fluted Bolsters
Blade: 52100 carbon steel @ ~ 60-61 Rc (Heat treat by Tony Bose)
(Steel etched for resistance to oxidation)
Length: ~ 3.75"

I'll fill in more details in a few days after I get this baby home.

Looks like we have a budding star in our midst.

Beyond that I'm speechless, you folks decide... ;)

(Thank you, Kerry. Thank you very much!!!)

That is Awesome:thumbup: I've never seen a slipjoint done like that, but what a wonderful idea. Oh, yeah, and great looking, too;) Congrats on that one.

Great looking knife Elliott:thumbup: Tony has created a knife making Troll. congratulations to all!!

Stunning. For lack of a better word.

That is a beautiful knife. Congrats to the three of you. One of these days I'll have the coin to have something of my own design/idea put together by such artists.

Looks to me like a nexus of spirit, talent, and vision. Always a pleasure to view.

Looks great:thumbup: I hope to get a knife from Kerry some day when he officially starts taking orders.

Great job on the grinds, fluted bolsters and the etch. Kerry is learning from the best but is showing that he has plenty of talent in his own right. He does them right.

Enjoy the knife, Elliott.

OMG
The stag, the blade... great work Kerry.
If you'd have to live with just one knife, this would be it.

Blues, that's a really enviable knife you've got there:thumbup:

Totally appealing on all levels. That Knife Head is doing my head in I'm just hoping he might be able to make something for me soon :D

Look forward to some more pix of this one, it will run and run!

Your apprenticeship is coming along nicely Kerry! (I hope I'm still on your list?)

Damn you Blues and Knifehead. Damn youse. That's a beauty. I've always liked etched blades. The treatment really works for preventing tarnish and rust.
