Hmmm..bought a Case medium stockman with yeller handles in CV for my dad for christmas.

Thing is, I can't let go of it now!!!!! I am debating on going back and picking up another Case stockman for him and keeping this one!

OH THE CHOICES!! its putting a huge burden on this young soul.

your thoughts?

Uh-Oh, It's OK  just pick up another one. When he opens his show him yours (knives that is:D), Hey !!!!we've got matching knives cool huh. Heck I'm 61 and I think it would be great for my son to have the same knife that I have. It would be a lasting memory.

Just the action of buying a Case for your Dad entitles you to buy one for yourself :D

Definitely buy another one. In fact, if you want to feel much better, buy two more. Then, you, your dad, and I will all have the same knife. Win-win!

" I went out and got me one just like yours, cuzz I want to be just like you Dad"
.......that will up your inheritance....

Lol, he won't get one quite like mine. See, he has a schrade oldtimer 8OT; its rusted, busted and looking to be put down like a rabid dog. He does not hold back on his knives and it doesn't matter if I buy him a $10 china knife or a $100 handmade piece of art, he works the dog stuffing out of them. Plus, my local sporting good store has select case knives on sale for 50% off!!!! :D :D :O I am probably going to go pick up another one..maybe two more if I find one I like.

Quick story on holiday knife giving!

Everybody in my family knows of my knife disease, so last Christmas, we all know the obvious choice for ol' Jerry. :D more knives!! Well, I guess my brother has slightly caught the virus, because he kept hollering, "Oh, i didn't get a new knife for Christmas!"
Me, being the person I am, took my sacred Case peanut in amber bone..a most sacred jewel to me at the time. Heck the blades were around 70% there after about a year, year and a half of sharpening and using the heck out of! anyways, I took that little peanut out of my pocket and handled it to him and said merry Christmas! It was kind've hard to do, but he hadn't gotten a knife that year and needed a new one.

You are definitely on Santa's "extra-good list" for that one.

Reminds me, last year I bought a Case amber bone texas jack for my best friend coming home from Iraq and getting married. Something about that Case amber bone is just hard to let go of.

Nokia, that was a nice thing to do. I have done it in the past but only with SAKs in that instant way. People tend to be glad and I can picture your brothers joy reciving such a gift.
One of the great things in life is the opportunity to give things away to the ones you love or to more distant people, one other great thing is when you yourself get unexpected gifts. In these times of endless consumtion this is the kind of behaviour that make ordinary things valuable.

Blades down to 70% in a year. That is pretty intence use of that little peanut. Do you have a new peanut or are you using one of the presents from last cristmas?

Bosse

I haven't gotten around to buying me a new peanut, but I've been using a queen gunstock and an oldtimer stockman lately. And I guess I only sharpened the penut that much because I was learning how to freehand and used that as my learning curve.

Glad that you are putting that Gunstock to good use. How is it holding up? If you want a tank slippie for you dad. I would go with the 303 stockmen. Can't bust them.

God Bless

He said he wants a case, so I guess im gonna give him this yeller handled one right here. i carried it today, just to say ive carried a classic :D. but i like my gunstock (and d2 better) anyways.

I got a great deal on an AG Russell scout knife for my little brother last year, and debated on keeping it and getting him something else. I'm glad I gave it to him, it is his favorite knife, even kicked his Benchmade 42 out of top spot :D.

I decided I'm keeping my queen in my pocket, pick up another down the line and send the knife were it was suppose to go anyways. Thank you for the words of encouragement and the advice guys! And heck I might pick up another one for a giveaway

I'm really glad to hear that Queen is holding up for you. It seems like it was a good fit.

Yes sir, its put in some hours now that I got it. I've rarely not put it in my pocket. Its ddefinetly a tank of a knife.heck, Its even been ran over with a tractor. :x but there wasn't any damage other then some extra cleaning that night.
