i would imagine everyone here knows this or has an easier method but.....i have a few tools that were completely covered in rust and just not useable....i got an old hatchet some tin snips...some old clamps,etc.....i have a friend who suggested a product called evaporust....which he used and said worked great....he also told me molasses is supposed to work the same way just take a little longer.....so i mixed up a 12 ounce jar of molasses with just under a gallon of water....wow that rust is coming off before my eyes...i've soaked them for a day so far...i think a few more hours and they'll be totally clean.....just thought i would share an easy way to remove rust if anyone didn't know already....it works great...is cheap....and i really didn't wanna sand it off:thumbup::D......ryan

I have used the Evapo-Rust, and it does work well... I'm sure the molasses and water solution doesn't cost $30.00 a gallon!

Thanks for the tip, I'll be sure to try it next time! -Matt-

wow...looks like i actually helped someone....i'll share more in the future!....ryan:thumbup:
