Hi Fellas!
I'm getting married tomorrow(5/26/01)! I have a beautiful woman that loves gun's and KNIVES!! So how could I be wrong! Do you think I could wear one of my high end engraved khukuri's at the wedding?...Just kidding! Most guests wouldn't appreciate that but I know you guy's would! Anyway wish us luck and I'll be thinking of all my friends on the forum!!!!!!!!!

"A beautiful woman who loves guns and KNIVES" Sounds like the foundation for a long and wonderful life, and we all wish you the very best...........You probably don't deserve her

All the Best! Wear the kuk under your tux. If it prints too much, tell 'em it's a fifth of Wild Turkey.

Congratulations !!

Good luck with your life together. When I got married I thought about wearing a khuk, but I didn't have a really nice one at the time. Since I don't plan on getting divorced/remarried, I guess that I will have to wait for someone else to wear a real knife to a wedding.

Kothimoda Katana for you, Kothimoda Khukuri for your bride.

Oddly when we married on 8/1/81 we were 30 and 31 years old - and afraid we'd have to work at changing old habits. Couple weeks later we decided that being married was like changing out of dress shoes into a pair of old slippers. Maybe not fancy, but infinitely more comfortable and soothing.

I wish you the best yet, above and beyond your dreams, and the stuff fairy tales are made of come true.

Congrats Chris!!!!!
It sounds like you have the basis for a good one!!!!!!!

I knew that my Barb was the right one when she told me that she had a 30-30 Winchester and had killed and dressed her own deer out.
And then she prooved herself the 1st time we went fishin' by helping me clean the catch and without going, "Eeewh."

Here in my region of Brazil, at the wedding party we use to cut the groom's tie and sell the pieces to the people in the party, the profits going to the new couple as a wish of good luck and wealth. If it is sharp enough, a khuk surely would work for this.
congratulations!

Congratulations! And best wishes.

In our tradition a wedding is for tying and/or bonding of the two with all their clans, so, nothing that implies cutting should be taken into it. Every word is believed to carry a "soul" of its meaning on it, we avoid those kind of cutting / parting words.

Very few people make exceptions by their extraordinary sense of humor, however.
Enough smile always beats any bad souls.

My aikido sensei told me that before my wedding and it really helped to keep me calm.

Best of luck!!
