I'm would like to buy a Variable Speed KMG-10. to go mobile. Generators?

The Honda inverter type are top of the line .the inverter will power sensitive stuff like computers and amateur radio gear .They are 1000, 2000 or 3000 watt versions. They power AC or DC.

If you insist on a KMG...go 220 and get a generator with a 220 outlet. My bader and Grizzly are both around 15 starting amps on 110, and even with a 5000/7500 generator I often have to give the bader a little bump start by pulling the belt to keep it from tripping the breaker. Kittle grinder for mobile and some deep cycles, KMG for the shop. I've been doing it this way for 12 years and it gets old, let me tell you (I'm also on genny #3, waiting for the power Co. and the neighbors to sort out easements...)

A Grizzly 1x30 with a small flat disk (don't get the simplest one, it's junk- look for the one with metal, not plastic wheels) costs less than a hundred bucks, and if you stay the heck off the platen and use good belts you can do one heck of a lot of sharpening with it, and do a good job....if you understand sharpening and knives in general, that is...
I can see why a person might want to put the whole grinding scenario in a trailer, but a table and a grinder that costs pocket change that you can lift with one hand and plug in anywhere is a pretty good option.

Is there a reason not to plug in an extension cord?
