I have an Imacasa machete with a plastic handle and am thinking of replacing the handle with a wooden one. does anyone have a photo or knowledge of the tang of this machete? Is it a full tang, full-length?

I believe like the Condor's (owned by Imacasa), they will be full tang versus reduced tang. IF you are removing the handle anyway, just cut it off and take a look. You must have one of the molded poly handles on that machete. Some of the Condor's are molded and generally very comfortable handles.

That goes for the majority of their injection molded poly handles. :)

I added oak handle and reprofiled the edge. this one feels really good. Looking forward to putting it to use. 12" blade will make a very handy machete.

Not really. I used a cut off wheel to cut along the spine top and bottom, then a hatchet while holding the machete blade vertical with the machete handle resting on bench, , chopping down on the handle with the hatchet blade parallel to the machete blade, and plastic handle popped right off.
