Very nice, but that's not a "real Kabar". That's a foreign made Kabar Heavy Bowie. I was refering to the knife, Kabar; as in the Marine Corps fighting knife. And I highly doubt that happed while sharpening unless you were trying to sharpen it on a bench grinder in which case you're at fault, because I have two of those Heavy Bowies and I've put them through some pretty heavy use and have had no problems as of yet.

And what is a troll as it is used here? I've never heard that before.

I hate to derail you guys, but can we get a picture of the knife model that shattered?

I saw a "Mossberg" USMC KaBar clone at Big5 Sporting Goods the other day. Didn't get a closer look than the knife in a leather sheath under glass as the 20something sales crew seemed to have some kind of phobia to venturing over to the gun & knife section. Anyone handled one of those ?
