My nominations:

Warren Osborne
Kenny Steigerwalt
JW Smith
Aaron Fredrick
Joe Kious

They deliver, the quality is outstanding, and they honor their word. No deposit and an effortless return, but how many knives have guys like this ever really gotten back?

Bailey Bradshaw
Tai Goo
Ron Newton
Roger Massey
Gib Guignard
Chuck Burrows
John Fitch

I have never had a really bad experience with any maker, but these guys have been exemplary.

Some makers that I have knives on order with that have also been excellent to deal with are: Nick Wheeler, Russ Andrews, Adam DesRosiers and Dan Pfanensiel.

Rob Brown has to be on that list too, excellent to deal with and gorgeous fit and finish.

Impeccable literally means "without flaws or perfect". as long as men are making them, I am certain that standard is simply unobtainable.

However, here are some honorable mentions ;) :

Russ Andrews
Harvey Dean
Tim Hancock
Ron Newton
Nick Wheeler

I have only included makers of forged fixed blades, simply because that is what I know and collect.

Jay Hendrickson, Ed Fowler, Don Hanson III, AG Russell--impeccable men of character which means as much to me as the knives they forge or sell!

Joel Chamblin,Richard Rogers andTony Bose.
Slip makers supreme.
Bill Ruple is coming up fast.
IMHO

Randy

What about among others

Roger Bergh
David Brodziak
Arpad Bojtos
Scott Slobodian
Andre Andersson
Gaetan Beauchamp

They all came through for me.

My impressions of this thread is more an example of good maker's character and business acumen, rather than the quality of their work. Although they tend to go hand in hand.

Coincidence? I think not...

First on the list, with no mention above: Steve Johnson, and a couple of guys walking in his footsteps!!!

Ron Lake, Steve Hoel, Jack Busfield, Jess Horn, Bill Pease

I will agree with Herman Schneider. That integral guy from Germany!!!

The late Mr Warenski, Dr Carter, Rick Eaton, Joe Kious

Although my slipjoint experience is very limited, I will agree with most of the posts above........and if Randy says its so............then I guess it is!!!

the list isnt very long imho!

ooopsss...had to come back here and add Timmy H to the list!!!! :)
