Howdy!
I'm a bit strapped for cash lately, but I'd like to help just the same.
Howzabout we auction off bude pictures of Lorena Bobitski?
Not auction in the usual sense however....
Here's how it works.
If you are a member at BFC, you'll automatically receive 1 nude photo per day of Lorena in her kinkiest pose. This will continue until you send in $25, at which point you will be removed from her mailing list.

Always willing to pimp off one of my multiple personalities,
I remain,
VG

PS - I'll place an order for merchandise soon. I've already seen her naked nd I'm pretty immune to her so I'll do my part!

VG -

So that's what all these pictures you've been sending me were for? All you wanted was $25 for BladeForums?

I guess I can cancel that court order...

And I thought I was special.

I am quite disappointed in the number of people that supported this idea. I sent my $25 in and was glad to do so, I also recently purchased a knife bag. I understand that $25 is a fair amount of money but haven't you gained $25 worth of info off this site. I also consider it my payment for the free for sale forum coming back as I plan on using that in the near future.

I guess Mike and Spark are right, if they would ever require a subscription or registration fee this site would die. It's too bad.

I am working on several ideas right now that will help generate revenue and not detract from the overall goal of this site.

Right now I just changed the footer tag on every page of this site. It will take a few days to work into the older threads as people post to them but right now you should see the BladeForums.Com Buyers Club link and email form at the bottom of every recently posted to page. Simply join that list and if you see something you want some day, buy it.

I would really much rather offer you guys something in return that is more tangible than what you are getting with the site. I know that the site has perhaps saved many buyers a boatload of cash, informed more than any knife magazine and so on, but I am not comfortable with the donation thing.

I grew up in the projects and I did not like it then and I feel weird about it now. If you are going to donate money, please give it to a organazation that can do much more meaningfull things with it.

But if you got $25 burning a hole in your pocket, buy a bag, a knife or hat or something

ithink this **** is great mike send me some info i will take a HAT a T-SHIRT AND A BAG
THANKS TO ALL .......

::::Putting on serious hat, trying to ignore the exrutiating pain it caises:::::

For the newer folks, while I believe that it's a good idea to continuously support BFC in any way possible, be advised that some of us that have yet to send in our $25 have supported the sight in the past.

I know that I've purchased 2 limited edition Sifus, an MPK neck knife, subscribed to the late-lamented Blade Forum magazine, which Mike generously offered to refund, but the majority of members, including myself, decided to "doinate to the cause". I think I might've bought a shirt, but maybe that was a thank you gift from another order.

In any event, I thought it should be mentioned that some of us DO in fact attempt to help out this forum whenever possible.

::::::removing serious hat, feeling better.....oh great, now the voices are screaming again!::::::

Mike & Spark, thanks again for the site!
VG

Mike or Spark,

How about if we loose the "donation" word that seems to be making you guys uncomfortable?

Maybe some of us just want to be "Suporting Members"...

I offered up a $100 knife, or $100 cash towards the purchase of a knife, if 1000 BFC sellers/traders would send you $1.49 at the close of a deal: http://www.bladeforums.com/ubb/Forum7/HTML/008182.html My intent was not a donation or charity: I simply wanted to support this site and pay my way.

Maybe my idea is too complicated, but I was looking for a way that every member who uses BFC could choose to support it: I kick in what I can afford and feels right; others kick in $1.49 per sale for using the format that we have grown to love; and some guys send in $25 ( Jackyl's idea) to keep what we like alive.

This is supposed to be a knife community: You guys put up the cash up front and we are just repaying our share. Doesn't sound much like a donation to me.....

Spark once (at least!) posted that "UBB code was limited", but it seems to me that there is room for changing everyone's profile to:

LURKER: or something more complimentary!
MEMBER: one who pays per trade/sale.
SUPPORTING MEMBER: same plus $25 per year
GOLD MEMBER: same plus $100 per year
LIFE TIME MEMBER: $300 once, plus $1.49 per trade/sale.

If my other idea isn't workable (and you post such), I'd like to become the first Gold Member!!!

Michael

PS: I don't need a bag, hat or shirt; unless you are giving them to the first 100 Gold members!!

Some of us want to help! Give us some direction.....

Ditto what C4 said. If you're uncomfortable with the word "donation" let's find something different. In the few short months I've been here, I've gained friends, made deals, had a lot of laughs, read great reviews, and increased my knowledge of sharp, pointy things. This is PRICELESS! Anything I can do to keep this going will be freely given and well deserved.
