Good morning!

I want to see knives in disguise! Completely unsuspecting everyday items that you carry or have that are sharp. I know you have them (or at least Charlie Mike does!), so let's see them, please!

Not to be a tease, but I'm making a video right now that (hopefully) I will be done with today. It'll blow you away, trust me - I was there and I didn't even believe it. Maybe you can give me some motivation, so I'll start.

I present:

A spoon

I hope we didn't disappoint! Enjoy!
Great Stuff!!! Murray Carter sure knows how to have fun as a master bladesmith.

Edited to add: Rereading the thread I am realizing that Somber may well be Murray Carter. Thanks for the video.

I didn't know that?! That would be one of a few dream jobs for me. Imagine all the knowledge one could gain.

Yep, it's a pretty awesome job. It's one of the reasons why I'm not on the forums as much any more. I talk about knives all day long that I really don't want to get home and read about them for a few hours. Plus, I just ask him if I have any questions about a knife, he's knows a thing or two! :)

Cool vid, and even cooler that you work with him!

My Papaw had a fork that he kept at his place at their kitchen table that was sharpened on one side. He used it to cut his meat, instead of using a knife. That way he didn't have to put down his bread to pick up the knife. rofl

That's awesome! Did he sharpen it himself, or was it something he purchased?

I really enjoyed the video somber, great job. And, nice shave Murray. I was thinking that it would be neat if the spoons were made from the same materials Murray's knives are - and they are! Don't know that I want to try shaving with a spoon quite yet but one of the new straight razors would be pretty nice. So will we see a new line of spoons on the web site? And how about Traditional Japanese Spoon Making classes? Thanks. Mike

I don't think Murray is going to make very many of these, probably only these two. They were surprisingly time consuming since the inside of the bowl needed to be polished by hand.
I don't think he'll be teaching a class for these - I'm sure that you could already make it, Mike. :)

He will be selling these two spoons, though.
