Need and would appreciate recommendation of companies offering wood impregnating / stabilizing services, experiences with them, etc. Many thanks.

I have used both and prefer wssi, however, my friend has used both and preffers Knife and Gun. Maybe my friend is not so smart. Really both are great and do a really good job, I have never been dissapointed by either.

Allways wear protection or there is risk of Impregnation :D
Sorry coundn't resist... Ive used K&G Many times they are consistant and do quality work!

I have used woostabilizer.com for a batch of spalted maple, black cherry burl and spalted birch. They were quite reasonable, did a great job and kept me informed at every step of the process. I wouldn't hesitate to send wood to them again.

You and I think alike. I had a laugh to myself when I read the title!

K&G are superior to WSSI. With WSSI, I need to add finish as the impregnation is not as full and I don't get as good a polish. Larry Davis in Eugene is as good or even better. All charge about $14/lb for small amounts and about $10/lb for 10 pouinds or more. All are very quick. They also include dying processes.
