We had a guy asking for help with a problem. He got very good advice. amg137 especially outlined what he could do. He had a link to a sale of his own in his sig line, so I checked it out. No surprise, his own ad was what we call "practice what you preach". amg137 is another one of the good guys.
Here's his post. Click on the link in his last line.

I would do what you can to manage a return to the seller. If it was done through Ebay, the exchange here, or payment was sent via paypal goods, there are systems in place for you to demand a refund if the seller refuses. If it was by credit card you should have the ability to backcharge them if they deceived you and refuse to give you a refund.
If the seller refuses and you don't have the ability to demand recourse, Benchmade does have very solid customer service. If you send it in to them chances are they'll get it back in working condition. There is a decent chance they'd consider it abuse and charge you for the service, but the cost will still be small compared to that of a new knife.
