Impressed with the Vantage Select

No need for attitude, bud. The knife you linked to is not the Vantage Force Pro. Which by the way, uses the same liner as the Select.

I am not giving attitude. The thread is about vantage selects and at 23 or 24 bucks they are a pretty good deal with a ton of happy customers. Here is a link to Vantage force pro

Again your numbers are off. I may be new here but I am not new to forums. If you are going to post up in a thread, please use correct prices so people get accurate feedback.

Again, those are not the Vantage Force Pro models linked. :D

You compared the numbers originally, not me. I mentioned the Force Pro because A) It uses the same liner, and B) It costs about the same as the knife YOU mentioned.

Regardless, if you actually looked through the thread linked it's an issue with all Vantages, not just the Selects. For $25, I do expect more from a knife. Standards are not universal though, as your replies have made obvious.

All that matters is that YOU are happy with YOUR knife at the end of the day. Many Vantage owners are not, but more power to those who are. Collecting knives is a hobby for most, and I for one applaud it either way.

The Vantage has a lot going for it. It has a few parts, which puts it in the class of SAKs, Opinels, and other older, time tested designs. In my book, simpler is always better. The Vantage, with its screw construction, has some adjustability, which is an advantage if you make use of it. The blade shape is a good slicer, and overall aesthetics are cery nice to boot. I look at the size of the flipper as a huge plus. It's big enough to get the job done, but doesn't form a big ugly guard. This knife has done all I've asked of it. Only time will tell, but I think the Vantage is destined to be a classic.

Well said. I love mine and plan on picking up a couple different models. The Vantage is my favorite Buck folder.
