Impressions from Blade Show 2010

Great write up STeven. Combined with the photo threads it gives me a good feel of how it was. Although I had a pleasant wedding feast, to be honest I rather would have gone to Atlanta. Ah well there is always next year.

STeven, your view of the show and your unbelievable writing ability almost makes me feel like I was right there with you...........wait!, I was. Any way thanks for your fantastic reviews. I enjoy every word and re read many times.

Oh, by the way the Robert from Germany you referred to is Robert Kaufmann, and as I recall he pronounced it COWFMAN.

Keep on keepin' on.

The mo, the betta. Keep it comin', STeven. Best commentaries in town.

^^^ See Murray's thread and David's thread for a bazillion pics. STeven makes with the lingo for a compelling read and unique perspective.

The WWWF needs to sign up the Garsson/Paranee tag team, they put on quite a show.

Great review.

As always, much appreciated !

Thanks for the compliments.

- The show was well attended.....don't know final numbers or comparisons from last year, but there were a LOT of bodies in the room on Saturday. Friday MAY have been slightly light.

- There was money in the room, and if it stayed there, it was because a) the wrong knives were made, b)the quality was not there, c) they were "too" expensive....people, when your knife dollar has so many places to go, bringing anything less than the "A"game is not going to work...saw that time and time again.

-I missed talking to David Broadwell....don't even think I went past his table, but wanted to...it will become a priority in the future. The subhilts that he has shown on the Forums are quite compelling.

- Missed seeing the chute knife that S.R. Johnson had on his table, because I couldn't find his table, even though I looked for it three times.....BUT, I did catch Steve picking through stag at the Culpepper booth, and got a nice set that he picked out, but ultimately passed on!!!

- Was very gratified to meet Gabe Newell, Jon Klein, Tad Lynch, Kyle Royer, Mike Ruth Jr., Charles Vestal and many others. Always nice to meet people within the community.

- Like to give a shoutout to Larry Bailey for the great work that he did with the display cases and overall display for the CKCA...Larry is a knife person's knife person.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

STeven,

As usual a great review.

It was nice seeing you again. I'm glad that you did not lead Joe Parenee astray.

Thanks STeven. Your take on the show was a great read, and something I always look forward to... Best Regards, Rich

Steven - You are one amazing dude. When we get together I always learn something new from you about knives (which usually causes me to learn something new about myself). Looking forward to the next time... :D
