This is the improved version of my bushwhacker style machete..

Here's a bend test, and a shave test after whacking through two 2x4's.. The shave test photo is after one pass with the part of the blade that bears the most use when cutting.. clean shave to the skin.
The shave photo was taken before the blade was prettied up.. So the finish you see is not what you'll get :)

The blade will bend very close to 90' and spring back to totally straight without a problem :) It can go farther than in the photo, I just didn't want to risk scratching the blade with the vice...

The handle doesn't seem to develop any hot spots when swinging the machete for a while.. which is pretty cool, and the hook on the end keeps your hand secure.

specs

.095" 15n20 steel, tempered to 390' for 3 cycles of 2 hours. Satin machine finish up to 400grit.
Micarta handle with steel pins
convex edge polished to 3k grit, and a felt belt strop to shaving sharp.
Size is roughly 18.5", with 4.5" being the handle, and 14" in the blade. Blade is about 2" wide at widest point.

Price
SOLD...finally :)
Thanks!

Evolution is such a beautiful thing.

BTW Kenon I ran another set of tests on the machete you made for me. We chopped down seven dead hardwood trees varying from 1-4" in diameter with no performance issues and ZERO edge wear. Incredible work!

Your design is so very elegant, practical and functional, applause! Your price is so very right as well that it temps me to order one... taking custom orders come next spring?

certainly, though price likely will not be the same :) this one is low because I need more steel :) I may even bump this ones price up in the near future :)

Thanks
