Hello to all :

Just a quick few questions from a total newbie -

I am going to obtain a ceramic liner from Ellis custom knife works for my grizzly platen - Can anyone tell me what the correct length should be?

Also... should I remove the factory ''foam'' coating on the face of the platen before gluing the ceramic liner to it?

And what kind of adhesive do you recommend?

Thanks for your help in advance.

Steve

Tell them the size of your platen. Let them know it's a grizzly.

I just removed the old coating by lifting a corner and peeling it off. I then used GOO-GONE to take off the rest of the adhesive. I then cleaned the platten.
The new platen was put on using two ton epoxy.

I have a question about this topic.
The grizzly has a platen that is beveled at the top and bottom.
how are you going to deal with that?

also, the platen of the grizzly is up a good distance from wheel , and this hurts my convex grinding. With your new platen could you have lowered the new platen an extra inch?
