I don't want my children fed or clothed by the state, but I would prefer THAT to their being educated by the state.

It will be over a grand by the end of the year. Hey, that's a lot for me, my 1st year in knives...

Uhhhh, I spent over over $2500 adding to my collection, and hope to finish by getting an Ang Khola, whatever they cost.

Including the Busse, Himalayan Imports khukuris, and Mad Dogs I'm waiting on, I'd say I have 15 knives and will have spent over $1500. It's my first year, too. Now that I have a bunch of Cold Steel (great value, and I'll get more) knives, I want even better ones.

As long as I am able to support the family, my wife says my own money is mine to spend ; )

Don't even want to think about the whole year.I have spent about at least $ 3500 in the last 2 or 3 months.Very scary to ponder a yearly total so i will pass on that analysis.

OK, Bill, confess. Did my wife put you up to this?

WARNING…WARNING…WARNING…

THIS SUBJECT MATTER HAS THE POTENTIAL TO:

1) GET YOU IN DEEP DEEP DODO WITH SPOUSAL UNIT. (they all are networked)

2) MAKE YOU YOURSELF REALIZE HOW DERANGED YOU'VE BECOME. (Which in turn can #3)

3) DISCOURAGE FUTURE KNIFE PURCHASES.

A couple of other custome which I can't mention yet

Plus a couple of others which I'm sure have slipped my mind.

Total? Probably over $5000 this year so far.

Happiness gathered? Incalculable, until my wife finds out.

Injuries? Other than my checkbook, only one - from a bloodthirsty Busse trying to separate my hand from my arm.

My first year also but only since about June. I would say i have spent about $450 and that was for 5 knives. If however i had bought them from the UK instead of on the internet that figure would be at least double.

3....Can't tell you $$(in case the Wife checks in here) but 2/3 were microtech autos.

Excellent post, Bill. (Sorry but you aren't my uncle).

I've spent way too much this year, but fortunately most of my spending has been financed by selling other knives. After deducting the amount earned from the sale of other knives, I have spent so far about $400.

I've been avoiding thinking about this, but since I'm among friends, here we go. This is my first year back after a firearm affliction, so here they are in order of progression:
Buck Nighthawk
Blackjack AWAC
2nd Blackjack AWAC (don't ask)
Blackjack Blackmoor 2000
EK Dagger (green paracord grip)
Spyderco Rookie (love the Rookie)
Chris Reeve Mountaineer 1
Dozier Straight Hunter
Lynn Griffith Tactical (or Large) Hunter
REKAT Carnivour
Less than some of us, more than a few of us, but never, never enough! As far as dollars, about a grand. Since August. OUCH!

Bill,

Come clean, now whats it going to cost us to keep this information quite like.

Are we going to supply you with Busse knives for the rest of your life or what?

I can't say exactly but it easily a couple of grand. Generally I am happy with what I bought: all of the Axis lock models, a Emerson Commander, REKAT Pioneer & Carnivore,
a Spyderco Starmate and a serrated ATS-34 Military, and a Blue Native plus a whole bunch more less expensive knives. Next year, I swear I will be more selective. My great temptation is that I live very close to a Great Knife Store, Grand Prairie Knives of Troy, Illinois. Although I enjoy knife collecting, sometimes less is more.

Upon receiving my CR Umfaan today that makes around 600 in the last month. (I got a late start this year)

Just THIS year, right? Well...

Livesay Woo
Livesay Titanium Tiger
Bud Nealy M2 Pesh Kabz
Pat Crawford Kasper Fighting Folder in titanium
JSP Credit Card Blade
Benchmade Axis lock
I don't know who made this knife, but it was a present from my wife who went to Mexico...wood scales, thumb stud, ? steel
Spyderco Ladybug

For next year...I have some JSP blades on order, and Pat's Janus folder looks really cool; I guess I should pay rent first though, huh?
