Ok the best things to me about Blade forum is people, friends you can make and talking about the outdoors So I was thinking if you were in a jam - lost and hurt ,held hostage or what ever it's bad . Who would you call if you could make one call for help and why would you call them . Ok here I go , I know it sounds corny but it would still be my Dad. Man he's in his 60"s and still tops his own trees . He is cut from different cloth / super condura, Being from a small south GA town he did all the stuff we would call survival just to get by or for fun . I could call him and He would drop everything . He would do what ever it took to get to me with crazed determination and he has more skills than I can count/ outdoors or urban ie fish, hunt, build , mechanic , operate equipment ,fight . I would know once I made that call all I would have to do is survive till he got there because he would get there . There would be no doubt in my mind.

My ex. She's one of the two the smartest, kindest, most compassionate, wisest, toughest, most competent, and most knowledgeable people I've ever known. She's one of my two closest friends, and one of just a couple women I've ever unreservedly loved. She's also my doctor, with intimate knowledge of my medical history. I have more invested in her, and her kids, and she has more invested in me, than I have with anyone else. She's one of the two who know me best, and one of the two who cares about me most.

That's a great tribute to your Dad. That's how every father would like his son to feel about him.

I, and my family, have a long time friend, whom is frequently referred to as my wifes and I "fourth son". He is 40 years old and is nearly an uncle to my three sons. We have a standing agreement that if needed, each of us would drop whatever we are doing and provide whatever assistance required, anyplace, anytime, and in whatever manner required.

It sounds funny to write it but I would call my father in law, he is the single most resilient, amazing person I know, we go camping alot and get along like Mutt and Jeff. He is a rare bird having gone to prison for manslaughter as a youth only to become a minister in his forties. What he lacks in formal education he makes up in dedication and faith.

A close second would be my wife usually she would be first on my list but she's visiting with Aunt Flo this weekend.:D:thumbdn:

here he is on trappers peak in montana. he always knows what to do. and never ever forgets the beer!

It would have to be my twin brother. If I need help in a way that needs physical brute strength to survivve, it would be him. He is a cop and loves the outdoors. The combination of knowledge and confidence allows me to know if ever stuck in a jam he is the one I call!

nobody, unfortunately the last few people I thought I would call turned out to be unreliable to the extreme.
I'm the one that gets called, so in an emergency or a shtf situation I'm on my own. It sucks but atleast I know where I stand, starting to like it.
Hopefully all you guys that think/have someone to call don't find out that that person actually isn't the one to call.
good luck.

I'm very fortunate that I have a few close friends/family members that if I were to call they would do whatever it takes to see that i'm out of whatever scenario I found myself in.

I also feel that I'm that guy for many other people, family and friends included. Having 5 sisters growing up I always knew that I'd need to lookout for them and eventually their families whenever needed.

I'm pretty fortunate...22+years in the Army I have a few good friends, the type you could call on and they would come. There are only a dozen or so, but they cover from ME, VA, GA, CO, TX and a few other states...a good emergency network:D The good news is we all get along, have worked together before and even now with a couple. These are the guys that I could trust covering my six if needed.

Other than my wife, the one who I named my son after, is probably the most reliable and the guy has done just about everything (Military Intelligence, Russian Linguist, Private Investigator, Police trainer - firearms, ASP and Pepper spray; amateur UFC, and a very successful Microsoft Engineer. Although we are several states away, we have a contingency plan for each other (and our families). He's one I know I could show up on the doorstep and he and his wife would take us in no matter what...it's also reciprocated.

I would call the USMC. They have been doing that sort of thing for 235 years.
Happy early birthday Devil dogs.

I'd have to say my wife. Strong willed and knows what to do if TSHTF. Gets a job done quickly and without complaint (most of the time :D).

If it was a bladeforums member (which I thought this thread was going to be about until I read a bit further) I would say Esav because lord knows he's helped me out when I posted in wrong places on the interwebs :p

911...That's who'd end up being called if I called anybody else anyhow, so let's just skip the middleman! ;)

PS just called my little brother and he would call me, thats flippin awesome, I am 35 and he's 18.
