Ok...so my trusty Ka-Bar needed a handle since the old leather one dry-rotted. I had some bamboo and figured it would work until I can get the rings to make a new leather one.

That's a neat trick to bear in mind. Are you going to re-do it in leather or wood when the time comes?
 
Yea...the story I got with this blade was that my great-uncle got it in Korea. It has been totally abused and beaten down. I found it in a box in his garage when he died and kept it for a future project. I initially wrapped the handles with electrical tape, but I decided I wanted something else.
 
Very cool idea Doug. Please post up when you redo the handle-that will be neat to see.
 
Yea...I am just waitin on cash to get the leather...and I am going to attempt a sheath...


I think a discarded or thrift-store belt would make a good source of handle leather for little or no cost....

That's a great knife with some cool personal sentimental value. Keep it alive and in use!

True...I could probably find one wide enough make the sheath as well...hmmm...
