I own four of Robert's knives so far - two of the earlier ones have a Bos HT, the two more recent models are Hankins' in-house HT. So far, I can tell zero difference in their performance - and their performance is excellent indeed! (So good in fact that I sold off my custom Dozier because these knives cut better at well under half the price.)
I take every flat grind or hollow grind knife that I buy (regardless of who made it) and put it on a Lansky with a diamond hone and re-profile the edge to 17 degrees. It is then finished on a grey alumina rod @ 22 degrees to create a micro-bevel.
I've done this to the knives that Hankins made for me and they all slice like lasers - they'll even push cut everything from super thin receipt paper to 9 oz leather with minimal effort, and they hold an edge for a very long time so long as you just use them to cut things. (These knives are, as mentioned above, cutting tools - not chop rocks or beat it into a tree stump and see what happens because I'm a dumb-ass kinda tools. He does a full convex 5160 for folks who like to do that stuff.)
