I am currently stationed in Guam, and I need someone to H/T my father's Christmas gift knife I am making.. Any body know of a H/T'er who ships international or someone who can help an Active Duty soldier? thanks

I lived in Guam back in 93-94, we built the Hyatt Regency, and i use to hang out at tahiti rama on telefofo bay!! Beautifull island i explored with a moped and ran into lots of interesting people, most friendly some not, as the locals at the time were not pleased with the development that was taking place by non natives. Contact Paul Bos 208 262 0500 he is in post Falls Idaho. On a side note BOS only does SS. Peters heat treating does both.
There might be someone here who will chime in and could help you out, i use the above mentioned for my blades. Good luck and thanks for your service!!

I was born in Guam, moved to the states when I was small though. I just retired marines myself. I visited in 2008.

When you say BOS only does SS you are refering to Stainless correct? Just wanted to make sure.. the knife I need H/T is 1095.. thanks for the response. I've met some good and bad so far..I've only been here a year though so still have lots of exploring though any secret cool spots you would recommend?

What size is your knife?
You are in Guam so it's not international shipping and if your active duty then you have an APO so it's not a problem.
You can send me an e-mail if you want.

Thanks for reply I emailed you. We don't have an APO anymore. They made it so you have to pay to have the APO, but if you want the free stuff it's a P.O. box...Lame !

I was stationed on the USS Frank Cable in around 97-98 time. Get to know someone in the machine shop there. They used to have heat treating oven's, but for the life of me I can't remember the shop number. If you can heat treat with a torch you can also use the base hobby shop's. they will rent you a cutting torch rig, but you will probably have to provide your own quenchant. Also the ship fitters on the Cable have plenty of torch's but you’re going to have to horse trade and probably do it at night.

If that doesn't work head on over to the Seabee base. Either the steel workers or the motor pool can help you out with a torch.

If that doesn't work then you can ask a couple of auto mechanics around town.

On a side note is the 71 Hemi Cuda Convertible still being driven down town by that doctor guy? I used to love that car. I didn't even mind the spanking he put on my 71 challenger.
