Really like that viper storm...let me add it to the longgggg list......

Nice collection, never tested how "soft " mine have been, but even though they are well made and a very good heavy use knife, out of the 6 I have owned (still have 4), 3 of them have had the poorest flipper action of any flippers i have owned

I’d say every one I’ve owned (many more than pictured) have all been very easily adjusted to a near-perfect, if not perfect, flipper action. Most have been gtg oob, some have needed a slight tweak to the lock bar.
These are all running on Skiff ceramic bearings, which makes for an insane, solid+smooth action. Love them garbage knives.

Does this technically mean modded knives? 🧐😂🤣

I have only one with the the triway pivot which has perfect action, the others are older on washers and the detent is hit or miss.
Have other brands of flippers on washers with no issues with the flipper action. Other wise nice design, well constructed knives

Ive only owned 3 Hinderer. XM-18 3.5 & 3 and an Eklipse. The XM-18 was the toughest folder I have ever used. I kicked the shit out of it and it came back for more every time. Only sold it because I just didn't care for the ergos. Now I find out it was soft and I cant for the life of me figure out how I missed that.

So far, what we have in this thread is, detents that are hit and miss, knives that operate better on skiff bearings, lockbars that need tweeked, and adjustments that need to be made.
So it is safe to say that it’s not optimum when it arrives?

So why is the heat treat assumed to be optimal?

Yeah, those guys in Ohio make an alright knife, I guess! Sadly, I tried to butter some bread this morning, and this knife bent in half. Had to put it in my vise and bend it back!

...But it didn't snap in half! 🤣
