Hey guys. Ever since I lost my Peanut, I've been trying out different knives to carry. I've carried my Buck medium trapper, but not fond of it. Tried the SAK SI, and again, not to crazy about it. I carry a multitool on me all the time, so the other tools on the SI seem pretty redundant. I just need something to cut with, and my Soddie has come to the rescue. I have a SS Case Sodbuster Jr., and it's been doing the jobs I ask of it just fine. I stopped carrying it a while ago, and I don't remember why, but now that I am carrying it again, it's like the return of an old friend. I love the Spartan-ness of it. It's such a simple design. One blade. Spring. No-nonsense handles. No frills. Just one good, tough, hard working knife. Plus, I am carrying a piece of history in a way, since it's been around forever. I was going to go buy a stockman or Barlow, but on the one hand, I m expecting a baby any day (minute?) now, so I really can't afford to buy too much. On the other hand, for my cutting needs, I really don't need the multiple blades. One good sharp blade does all I need, so the soddie fits the bill. Anyone else got some love for the Sodbuster, or has this thread been done already?

Sodbuster knives are just plain good hard working knives. Simple..yet effective cutters.

I ♥ sodbusters. One thing I like about them is that they're really easy to carry; with just 1 blade, they're very thin. The wide blades are also easy to get extremely sharp.

I love my large yellow Case CV, and my small yellow Case CV, and my large yellow Eye-brand, and my small yellow Eye-brand, and my large Kissing Krane brown mule, and my medium Kissing Krane brown mule, and...

Need I go on?

Thats why I posted a question of how and what you guys use to do that. I don't at present have a digital camera or scanner. I have to get one when funds allow. I have alot of old photos I'd like to post.

I can't gush enough about my new German Eye large yellow sodbuster. Great cutter and feels oh so comfortable in my hand. Can't wait til it develops a patina.:)

Hey Jackknife, do you have a webcam? I don't know if this is a normal feature on all webcams, but mine takes pictures. You might want to look into that if you have one.

No, no webcam. Just one single old computer that is sort of tempermental. I came to this high tech thing late in life, and just learned to get on line in my retirement. I'll just have to spring for a nice digital camera and learn how to download and post pics. I'm still awed at using this thing to talk to people all over about mutual interests. Sure beats the pont express all to heck.:D

I do the same darn thing, bud. :D

Actually, we have had a few sodbuster love threads awhile back. Soddies seem to be one of those knives that most fellows just fall in love with once they use them. You'll find that the guys who love peanuts also tend to love their soddies for many of the same reasons - easy to carry, cut like crazy, and nothing pretentious about them.

I've got a Case CV Jr., yellow handle I patina'd the blade on, all three sizes of the Kissing Crane, Brown Mules, and an ugly, Rough Rider locker in awbaloney (abalonite is what they call it.) Someday I'm gonna land me one of those stag stocked soddies.

Welcome to the Sodbuster fan club. We're a highly populated club.
