What a great story and what a wonderful man. I am sorry for your loss.
As an aside, he died on my birthday
I lost my best friend in Canada at the end of January. He was 75, so had a good innings, but he was so young at heart, it was a bit of a shock. He was one of those guys that you thought would go on forever. He was cracking jokes on the Friday evening and passed on the Saturday lunchtime. If there is a good way to go that is the best way. The funeral was a joyful affair, and we had a wake at our favourite bar afterwards.
Cindy, a tree is a great idea. Our friend wants his ashes deposited in Lake Ontario. Perhaps I'll plant a tree too.
