in need of a stainless steel knife maker

I need a knife maker who would make a unique knife design who does stainless steel such as 440c, N690, or VG-10.

LeatherSnake: Where did that ^^^^ one knife come from? It looks Russian markings. Why is this not a possibility?

(Ruski's have no scruples.... ;))

Ok, I guess carothers is ruled out. I found a couple guys who are willing to forge the knife.

Thank you all for your recommendations. If you still have any more recommendations, please post them on the forum.

I looked all over the internet and no luck to find the guy who made the blade. Apparently it was auctioned off at ebay years ago.

Forging stainless steel doesn't really produce a superior blade. There is no reason to do it, and frankly, it's just dumb.

Maybe you can just get someone to waterjet it and then send it out to get heat treated?

For what it's worth, I did a Google search of this image, and the knife appears to be available in at least two places in China for $70:

Find a friend who can write back in Chinese. Good luck!

If he could get some helpful replies, rather than blindingly original comedy material, this would be more fun to read...

Much of what is popular these days, from folding pry bars to 4 inch blade full tang "Survival Knives", is a lot dumber than this knife anyway, so it's not like your demonstrating you see the beam in your own eye... By miles...

Lighten up, Joe asked a question about a knife used by a character in a video game about killing zombies...

So in all reality my post is probably pretty close to accurate. Besides I wasn't knocking the OP I was joking with Joe.

Another reality is that most knifemakers that invest considerable amount of money and time in knifemaking equipment and training, like myself, don't typically spend their valuable free cycles on making video game knives designed by folks who usually know nothing about things like blade geometry or function.

But to show I am not an unreasonable guy, OP what is your budget? If it is realistic I might know of a member that may take this on.

The truth is about once a month someone new posts in customs about wanting a replica of some movie/video game/random production assassin knife and then states he has a budget of 80$ or 100$ with a sheath. If the OP is willing to spend on a custom I'll shoot him a message, otherwise his best bet is to follow Coop's advice or get a united cutlery catalog.

With that I'm signing off this thread, good day gents.

oh, well look who's come to the party!

Thanks clint but I found one already. Again thank you for your recommendations and I do enjoy your comments on this post.

Found what? Maker or knife?

Is he going to forge the stainless blade or grind it?

I think you might be getting wrapped around the axle on poor terminology. When he says forge, I think he just means make a knife. Not actually forging vs. stock removal.
